Everything You Need To Know Before Building a Retaining Wall
What happens here
After the road mix is compacted, the team begins laying the first course of GeoWall retaining blocks. The blocks are set directly on the compacted road mix. The key to ensuring a straight and stable wall is to frequently check the level of each block using a spirit level and adjust as necessary. The retaining blocks feature a unique pin system; fiberglass pins are inserted into pre-drilled holes, allowing subsequent layers to securely interlock while creating an automatic setback for the wall. This setback helps the wall lean slightly into the hillside, increasing its stability against soil pressure.
Goal: Install the first layer of retaining blocks, ensuring it is perfectly level and aligned.
