What happens here

After the first coat of joint compound and tape has dried, the surface is prepared for the next layer. Instead of traditional sanding, a wet sponge (spongesanding) is used to lightly abrade and smooth the dried mud. This technique effectively dilutes the old mud, creating a smoother transition with less dust compared to dry sanding.

the same exact tape you're using has a little not perforated but a little crease down the middle it makes it perfectly easy for you to create a corner once you bend it in place slap some joint compound on the side push it in and then use the same tape knife to squeeze it all out [Music] now i'm not saying i'm scared of heights i just don't like them and i don't uh a lot of it has to do with knowing too many people who've fallen off the ladder so i don't enjoy being up here 14 feet up in the air i'm a ground level guy i'm a level guy i'm a down-to-earth kind of guy i guess that's what i'm going with we did the taping now we have to float it and you floated with typically the next size up of uh drywall trowel so you have uh the four inch that we did here now the next we're gonna go with like an eight inch and then we'll spread it making this hump less noticeable less aggressive but before we get there we have to um sand this down and you can get a sander out and have a bunch of dust here or here's a trick i learned it's called wet sanding so you just get a sponge or i think it's called sponge sanding i think that's what it is mind shaming you get a sponge you get it wet and then you just kind of wash it over and what it does is it dilutes the old mud enough to be less abrasive just like that and we're not taking any tape down so which is great we're going to finish this all off and then we'll start floating this thing all right so now we're going to start
