Boosted Yukon XL "Uncle Rob" FINALLY Makes Turbo Noises!! We Finish Up Assembly & First Time Startup

What happens here

Secure the turbocharger by bolting it down to the exhaust manifold. Connect all turbo oil lines (feed and return) and ensure they are tightened with thread sealer to prevent leaks. Begin installing the intercooler (charge) pipes by attaching them between the turbo and the intercooler, and then from the intercooler to the throttle body. Use clamps to secure all connections. This step can be challenging due to tight spaces and varying clamp sizes. Fit the headlight back into its housing.

Goal: Connect the turbocharger and its associated plumbing, and install charge air system.

Tools and materials

  • Hose Clamps — Securing charge pipe connections
  • Intercooler Charge Pipes — Connecting the turbo to the intercooler and then to the throttle body
  • Screwdriver — Tightening hose clamps
  • Wrench/Socket Set — Tightening turbo mounting bolts, oil lines, and charge pipe clamps
  • Thread Sealant — Preventing leaks on turbo oil line fittings
