Boosted Yukon XL "Uncle Rob" FINALLY Makes Turbo Noises!! We Finish Up Assembly & First Time Startup

What happens here

Disassemble the TiAL MVR wastegate to replace the internal spring with a lower PSI spring (e.g., a 4.3 PSI spring). Different colored springs correspond to different pressure ratings. Reassemble the wastegate with the chosen spring. Mount the wastegate onto the crossover pipe, ensuring the locator rings are properly seated for a secure fit. Do not overtighten the clamps, as they can gall up and break when heated.

Goal: Install the wastegate with appropriate spring pressure to regulate boost.

Tools and materials

  • Locator Rings — Ensuring proper alignment and seating of the wastegate
  • TiAL MVR Wastegate TiAL — Regulating turbo boost pressure
  • Wastegate Springs — Setting the desired base boost pressure (4.3 PSI selected)
  • Wrench/Socket Set — Disassembly, reassembly, and tightening wastegate clamps

69 times already so the crossover's bolted up now gotta take this bad ass tile mvr wastegate take it apart and put the little kid spring in there so we don't max out the fuel system and melt something before we have any fun because we're gonna dyno this thing on the stock fuel system and see how far it'll go tanner says it should do you know three pounds or so that's equivalent to you know putting like a cam in one of these things or something like that it should be okay with a couple pounds maybe we'll find out but according to the chart this guy right here is the weakest tiniest psi spring we can put in there and it is a whopping 4.3 psi spring seems like a lot this is what the inside of a tile diaphragm looks like oh so you choose which one you want to put on it yeah each one of these has a different um like compression rating this is another one of those good question moments and you can they're different diameters so you can like stack them together to have more or less but we want the tiniest one because the fuel pump and injectors in that thing are not big enough to match the amount of fuel to the amount of air that this will produce at a higher boost level so it can only handle like three pounds or something otherwise you get more air than fuel in the motor then it melts sounds cool in due time so i'm putting the wastegate on now i don't have any of the plumbing hooked up because we're going to figure that out later right now we're just putting it on and we'll get on with like the the nitty-gritty stuff later on but a lot of these wastegates good ones anyways have these uh like locator rings they're separate so it kind of seats into here and it also when it's bolted will bolt up to there it kind of is almost like a extra layer of ceiling i don't know it sounds stupid it's cool okay it does something otherwise they wouldn't put it there remember in the last video where i was like i'm just gonna send it not check the fit because i know it's gonna work i was right but i think i'm gonna kick it something like that i don't know if people blow right at the ground but they're saying yeah we'll blow right at the ground eventually i'll turn it to point this way to make a tube that runs into the exhaust we don't have that yet either so we are fully adjustable and i forgot an itty bitty wrench for that nut cool we'll have to grab one of those i'm just gonna take it off and take it up there with me so i don't have to bring wrenches under here that's the smart…
