Abandoned House FINAL HOUSE TOUR!
What happens here
Originally, the dining room felt small and had an awkward layout with a single-pane window and custom-made single glass door flanked by two single-pane glass panels leading to the backyard. A peculiar hidden door in the kitchen area (leading to the unfinished basement) also contributed to the cramped feel. The renovation involved removing the old door and glass panels, enclosing the space with new drywall, and installing a modern sliding glass door, significantly increasing natural light and providing better access to the backyard. The hidden basement access door was cleverly concealed within a new partial wall structure that defines the dining and kitchen areas, allowing for a more open floor plan while maintaining necessary access. This improved the flow and visual appeal, making the dining room feel more spacious and accommodating for a larger dining table.
Goal: The dining room was reconfigured to feel more open and functional, replacing a single-pane window with a sliding glass door and relocating a hidden access door.
