3 Ways to Build Floating Shelves

What happens here

After the wood glue has dried, apply wood filler (Minwax Wood Filler) to all nail holes, gaps, and imperfections on the shelf. Once the wood filler is dry, sand the entire shelf with 120-grit sandpaper, then finish with 220-grit to ensure a smooth surface, ready for staining. Next, apply the same Minwax Wood Finish in 'Weathered Oak' as used on the beginner shelf, making sure to apply it in the direction of the wood grain. Allow the stain to sit for about 30 minutes before proceeding to installation.

Goal: Smooth and stain the assembled intermediate shelf.
