What happens here

After sanding, apply a wood stain to the lumber. The presenter uses Minwax Wood Finish in 'Weathered Oak,' which has grey and yellow tones to give a modern farmhouse look. Before applying, stir the stain thoroughly to mix all the pigments settled at the bottom. Apply the stain with a rag or brush, moving in the direction of the wood grain to ensure even absorption and prevent blotchiness. Apply a couple of coats and allow them to dry.
