TRACTOR SERVICE HACKS!! DON'T MAKE THIS MISTAKE!! MASSEY, FORD, JOHN DEERE, KUBOTA

What happens here

With the fuel system bled and all components secured, start the tractor. Monitor for any unusual noises, leaks, or performance issues. Once satisfied with the initial startup, proceed to clean and protect the battery terminals. First, spray a battery terminal cleaner (like Lynex by East Penn) onto the corroded terminals. This cleaner is essentially spray baking soda and will foam up as it reacts with the corrosion. Allow it to work, then rinse it off with water from a hose. After drying, use a wire brush (or a small wire wheel on a drill) to clean any remaining corrosion. Finally, apply a battery terminal protector (like CRC Battery Terminal Protector) to both terminals, which creates a purple coating to prevent future corrosion.

Goal: Verify tractor function and protect battery terminals

Tools and materials

  • Battery Terminal Protector CRC — Applying a protective coating to prevent corrosion
  • Hose — Rinsing off battery terminal cleaner
  • Wire Brush — Scrubbing stubborn corrosion from terminals
