What happens here

When using sandpaper by hand, simply tearing a piece off and trying to grip it can be difficult and ineffective. Instead of folding it in half, which often causes the sandpaper to slip and provides only two sanding surfaces, fold the sandpaper into thirds. This method ensures you have an abrasive surface on all sides, provides a much better grip, and gives you three fresh surfaces to sand with before needing to refold or discard the paper.

Goal: Improve grip and usability of sandpaper when sanding by hand.

next tip is about sandpaper so as a decorator i use a lot of this stuff and it comes in big rolls like this if you go to your local hardware store you probably get it in in little sheets um and what i see a lot of diys doing let me just tear a bit off here what i see a lot of diys doing is they've got the sandpaper like that in their hand and it's really really hard to grip onto when they're sanding down the wall um a lot of people use sanded blocks which are great if you've got one use that as perfect if you haven't you just want to use it by hand what i would say is fold it into thirds so one fold two fold and then you've got one side another side and then sandpaper onto paper so that it stops it slipping about so if you were to just fold it in half see it's sliding about which makes it really painful and annoying on the wall so if you fold it to third you've got abrasion on all sides and then you've also got three sides to sand so when you open it up just fold that bit over and there you go nice easy tip okay so
