it's important to me that i talk about this because it can change people it can change paths of lives and if i don't say anything about it that doesn't happen if you're a fan of car guy youtube channels and you watch them regularly and it's something that's really important to you and you find a lot of entertainment in that is there a little part of you that wishes you were doing that yourself or wishes it you could be a part of that or watching that stuff kind of like living vicariously through because you think you can't be whether you admit it or not deep down inside that bothers you just a little bit you don't really listen to that inner voice but it's there if you're watching this stuff and you're feeling stuck this is where i was at senior high school i didn't really have that much young for me my grades were terrible i got pulled over frequently because my car was loud i kind of feel like my parents thought i was like a loser all my friends are getting accepted to college oh here's my acceptance letter from penn state ohio state whatever were you going to college me i don't know did you take the s.a.t yet no when are you going to do that i don't know i don't care i didn't care i didn't think that was like i just didn't care i was just indifferent because it didn't none of that appealed to me i just nothing lit me up nothing like cars that was just like what i wanted to do that's the only thing i paid attention to and if i'm being completely honest i was not in a great head state back then i wasn't like suicidal or anything by that means but when i would drive i didn't care if something happened to me and i don't mean that like i wouldn't drive out like maliciously i mean i'd go make polls on the highway because i liked it and i thought well if a deer runs out in front of me then whatever that's supposed to happen i accept that so i just went out and just did whatever i wanted to do because didn't didn't matter i figured deer runs out in front of me someone pulls out in front of me i was supposed to be dead that's just how it is and that sounds weird to say i've never really told anybody that before but it's the truth you're getting the reel here it says on a regular channel with that perspective i blew off school i didn't take it seriously i didn't follow what people expected of me in that sense because i just really didn't care i it was not important to me to follow that stuff because this little slice of whatever with doing car stuff was the only thing that gave me any light in the day-to-day like i was living for friday you know we're in high school every day is just terrible and it gets progressively better until you know you get to wednesday you're like all right there's some lady in a tunnel here thursday okay cool thursday it's a little bit better friday it's great cause you just can't wait for it to be over and then friday night you got fun you get nothing left to do saturday is great then you wake up sunday morning you're like crap this is my last day until that and then you know the day goes on sunday and sunday night you're just hating it because you know you got to wake up in the morning go back to all that crap again i couldn't stand it i just couldn't do it i just it was like a living hell the fact that i am able to do the things i do now where i don't care what day it is i actually look forward to monday because i can get more stuff done because more things are open that is so important to me that i take the time to outline what what this means to me and what my my process was from that to this because i know you guys are out there that have the seed to do something with your life that doesn't suck and if it weren't for whatever strange coincidences that have come my way i might be doing something right now that i suck i might not like waking up every day and i can't imagine my life being like that this is not just to build stuff you know throw it together go beat on it blow it up make it a little better do something with it okay now it's boring let's do it again this is not one of those machines of a channel and i feel like i was kind of getting lost in the shuffle of the numbers forgetting why i really do this and if you've been following me on instagram for a while you can see this side of me come out of my captions and i haven't really elaborated on that much here because it's like weird to talk about with nobody around here i'm just staring at a gopro right now talking to you whether you know it or not if you're watching this right now i think there's a reason for that so back to the process of how i went from bowling my audi around not caring if i got t-boned or something to now i never took college that seriously because i could afford to not to i wasn't paying for it i didn't have to i was just like forced to go to college that's just it was the standard i had no other option it was just pushed upon me like i was gonna go to freaking bc3 and i didn't care my dad like made me apply to penn state and i happened to get in somehow i don't know how my gpa was like a 2.0 or something i think they like my recommend my um application letter i don't know i have no idea but anyway i got in and i was like okay now i have it wasn't every day i scheduled my classes so it was like every other day so like monday wednesday friday so i'm thinking great i have more time to do what i want to do now and i have more time to stave off that responsibility of some [ __ ] life i don't want which i didn't care about i was not doing what was needed of me to do that and if i was doing bad in a class and it sucked i'd just drop it and i'm like well you can't drop that you could oh you need to make that blade i'm like i don't care like it just didn't i just pushed push push pushed it off so i could just do do car stuff and i had no intent of doing the things that i'm doing right now back then i just did it because i liked it and that was my sole focus all day every day i'd be sitting in class just thinking about what i was gonna do when i got back in the garage or you know what my friends were doing that was just it i blindly followed what i was interested in it blows my mind to think about what what could have been right now if for the last four years i had had not taken the trajectory that i did this didn't just happen some so-and-so wasn't my next-door neighbor nobody just did this like i was not i don't come from racing family my dad doesn't know how to work on cars i was just you know i like cars i mean he liked cars too but he didn't work on him or do any of that stuff with me like i just learned from hanging out with people because it was generally what i love to do there was a time when i was like a real real low it was my after my first semester of college when i really just like basically blew everything off i thought i could skate through it like i did with high school and that wasn't the case you couldn't see what your grade was online and i had no idea well turns out i failed every single class i had every single class i had every single one except this study hall which was like attendance space and i even got a c in that so my gpa after my first semester of college was 0.23 and when i got the email saying that i was just just destroyed like i'm like wow i'm a loser i'm not gonna do anything with myself like this is terrible i'm like a failure that's what i thought i sat in a giant eagle parking lot in the escalade because that was my daily driver at the time i just sat there just staring at like raindrops on the windshield just thinking like man i'm i'm a freaking loser what am i gonna do and i was thought like wow when my dad finds out about this he's gonna he's gonna like make me he's not gonna pay for it anymore or he's gonna make me pay for it and i'm not gonna pay for it as that was my my thing from the beginning is if i had if that ever came across that i'd leave and i was sitting there thinking well i don't know i'll just go working because i'll go work in a steel mill bill my friend bill worked at a steel mill and he seemed to like what he did and i was like well i'll just go work on a steel mill with bill if i'm gonna be a freaking loser and screw myself out of college for being an idiot and i never told my dad about that i don't know how long it took for him to find out but i kind of got my own act together i was like okay well if i'm gonna do this i have to at least survive just the bare minimum so i actually had to try when i started getting my gpa back up i took you know dumb classes like fitness theory and like yoga by the way if you're in college take a yoga class and sit in the back row it's just an evolution i always wanted to have a faster car like my dad had that he had a gt500 with bone stock and i had the my monte carlo which was not as fast as it but that that shelby was like the benchmark of fastness for me like that was what i wanted and it wasn't my car but i could drive it sometimes and i could ended up driving it a lot but it never stopped me wanting to do what i want to do to my car to make it faster than that and i took my iron big block heads to a machine shop once with that car it just happened to be what i was i was driving because my dad was using something for something else put a pin in there real quick i wasn't allowed to buy my own car because anything i wanted to buy was not safe like one time in like somewhere between 11th and 12th grade i you know did a bunch of random stuff in landscape with my friends detail cards all this stuff i saved up like four grand then i wanted to go buy myself a third gen camaro because i wanted one and my dad was like no you can't do that it's not safe it's two-wheel drive it's dangerous you're not like no so i'm like what am i supposed to do okay whatever so i just had to drive what was there because that's what the rules were some of you might think this is good like you don't know you don't know what my life was like that's how it was i just had to drive what was there that was what i was supposed to do i was supposed to drive the escalade i didn't pick that thing i didn't pick the color i came home one day and it was in the driveway and i was like oh god an escalade it's my new work truck like you're gonna drive to school like okay he said cause it's big safe and slow so there was that but anyway i get my iron big block heads out of this shelby and the guy comes walking out and he's like what are you doing messing with these old things and you got this thing to drive around and i was just like i didn't have an answer for him i was just like oh i don't know i like it it's not mine like i didn't it was about the the quest for me it wasn't just having the fast car it was like i wanted to build it that forward growth in that topic is what gave me like life i don't know that sounds cheesy but you know what i'm talking about when you're passionate about something you're all in it you're just in it and everything is just going and then it's not you're not thinking about it you're just fully absorbed in that and that's how i was with that stuff so i just kept fueling that fire regardless of whatever else was going on and over time i made friends just because you know you do things you make smarter friends you meet more people you ask good questions i always want to learn everything so i learned stuff from anybody that would tell me anything and over time i just kept making new new friends doing more stuff and knew like i wanted to put a cam in something and i'm like okay well we're gonna go to the track and i'm gonna talk people who got cams and their stuff and i'm just gonna see like how they do that and that's that's all it was i wasn't even allowed to drag race i don't know if i've ever said that anywhere before my dad was like oh you can't go to the track because if your crush isn't all covered under insurance and oblivious i'm like okay i'll never go there and my sister ratted me out one time my dad freaked out and i told him that she misunderstood what i said and whatever but i was actually racing i raced the escalade as a 14 second truck for a whole summer secretly never posted anything anywhere i couldn't tell anybody what i was doing other than the friends i was there with because if i got back to my dad he'd beat my ass and that was that was my life back then i don't know a lot of people don't know that it's it's strange so when i think about all the weird stuff i do now like you know sleeping in the back seat of my truck at truck stops and i live in a freaking rv in an industrial park in dallas texas cool that sounds miserable to a lot of people you want your yard and your white picket fence and all this stuff and then there's me i'm happy to be can be because i'm you know in my rv in industrial park so in texas i'd never been before four years ago this is crazy through following my passion blindly without any expectation i've somehow like taken the parts of my life that were the coolest to me when i was like seven years old and just expanded that into every day like when i was when i was seven years old we'll use that for an example my dad's 95 suburban was like the coolest thing ever to me he had just sold it i was really butthurt about it so i drew pictures of it and stuff all the time that was like my favorite thing that's when my soft spot for those 90s trucks was really developed i like going to nascar races with him in the motorhome that was like my favorite thing is going on motorhome trips you know we towed behind the motorhome that that's suburban or uncle rob out there the red one that's the one that replaced that white one if you didn't know but now i think about what's my life now i'm in an rv all the time i go to race tracks and i tow my suburban around and i race it it's my race car i just like i'm just so so blown away sometimes that how things have progressed it's important to me that i talk about this because it can change people it can change paths of lives and if i don't say anything about it that doesn't happen and if you've watched this far i know you're someone who actually cares because all the surface level people that just want to see dumb stuff on youtube have been long gone by now and that's fine that's why i ramble before so long because get them out of here i don't want those people here they're not useful they're not going to do anything they're not going to make themselves better they don't they don't live it so that's fine but i'm here i'm saying this now for those of you out there who do care who do have that seed of interest to do something with cars that makes your life not suck every day that's why i feel that i'm in this position and i have this pedestal to speak from because for some reason there have just been a non-stop chain of free coincidences that have kind of pushed me into places that created things that ended up being huge um door openers for me like how did i end up staying in oklahoma for 10 months i tried to go home two times both times my truck blew a mega fuse an hour outside the city just shut off and after the second time i was like okay all right world i i hear you i'm not leaving that's literally what i thought so i stayed there i stayed in my trailer for 10 months and then here's another one my shower drain and my trailer had rattled loose and water started going around i didn't know that and it got under the the lvp flooring and got the wood all wet after a couple days i realized this and i was like crap i had to rip the whole thing up so it could dry out there's this bare plywood the whole thing was torn apart i was in the middle building i was in the middle of building chase laven box mustang the turbo kit for it so i and it was under a time crunch so i couldn't like put my trailer back together and fix it like that so he's like oh just stay in my rv in the shop until you get the car down and you fix your trailer so i said okay and by then that i was in my trailer for a month and a half at that point and it sucked man i was miserable it was just i'd be sleeping the wind blow and the thing would shake it was a car trailer i the floor was less than 80 square feet all i had room for was like this chair a small table and if i turned around the fridge was like at my back that was it and i was really starting to hate it it was wearing me down and it just it was just i was miserable and i get into that rv and after there for you know a week i'm thinking man this is really cool i like this maybe and i thought sort of thing maybe i could sell my dually flip the trailer and get like an rv like my dad used to have and the more i started looking into it the more of a viable idea that sounded like and i thought well if i do it right i can make a lot of money on this trailer because i got a really good deal on it that's how i had that thing and i did flip it and i did make a nice chunk of money on that thing and roll it right into the newell and the dually i uh i got that with a loan that was a really good deal too i put 40 000 miles in that truck and i sold it for exactly what i paid for it so and the cost of that newel was less than a new diesel pickup truck so i like for some people think that thing is like 300 000 you're out of your mind that's not even close it looks like it is but that's what's cool about it it's not and i didn't even have anything close to that and i still got a payment on it but i tell you what that payment is a lot less than paying rent and that's why i did that that's me being smart i said i can do this and i could spend less money every month living in an rv that does work for me because it looks cool it's a marketing tool it's a branding tool it's a network tool all that stuff happened all that realization happened my life right now and i know it happened because my truck shut off two times randomly going down the highway when i was trying to go back to pennsylvania and my shower drain came loose got the floor all wet and then i realized you know what maybe i should do this whole rv thing and that's when that ball started rolling that's why i'm sitting here talking to you today from an industrial park at triple 7 performance in arlington texas because of those two bad things it's just crazy and you say what you want but i i'm not like a religious guy but there's something going on out there i don't understand it i don't care to understand it because i know i can't figure it out it's like gravity i know it's there you know it's there you know if you go on top of building you jump off you know what's gonna happen there's something going on out there that's doing stuff and i believe that and i believe that it when i get off track whatever that decides to slap me and say no dude you're doing this just like that and i really believe that i am here i have this channel and this following in the escalade the way it is and the opportunities that have come across that have capitalized on i believe all that is there so i can say this stuff to you guys and change people's lives because it's happened to me if i had not discovered andy farcello's mfceo project podcast in 2018 i wouldn't be sitting here talking to you either because i was kind of on the right track i was getting myself out of being a turd i wasn't like a lady deterred anymore i started working on the escalade more i was really turning it up kind of cutting out my social life friends it didn't matter and that kind of stuff and i discovered that podcast through a friend of mine mark tacola and i started listening to it and all these you know bits and pieces of little bits of things i was already doing or had learned he outlined in this podcast as like the actual recipe to like do really big things and i was like oh my god like i'm i'm like kind of doing some of this stuff already like i guess i'm not an idiot and because of that i just turned it up like i was like all right i already you…
