There’s Not Enough Room For This Build

What happens here

The presenter stands within the pre-excavated area, surrounded by extensive wooden formwork designed for the concrete foundation. Inside these forms, rebar is visibly placed and tied, ready for structural reinforcement. He explains that the inspector has already approved the rebar placement. The plan involves a two-step concrete pour: first for the footings (approximately 8 inches tall), and then, after removing the initial forms, new forms will be built for the stem walls. The stem walls will rise considerably, with some portions buried and others exposed to manage water drainage. Finally, waterproofing material will be applied to the buried sections of the stem wall to prevent moisture intrusion.

Goal: The initial phase involves ensuring the concrete formwork and rebar are correctly set up and inspected before concrete pouring can begin. This includes preparing for a two-step pour for footings and stem walls, and planning for future waterproofing.

hey guys welcome back to episode two of building an A-frame Cabin in the Woods we got a really exciting day today the biggest things are happening today and I'm so excited to show you we've made a long way through we went from excavation to digging our footings and today as you can see we got a big day we're actually going to start pouring our foundation so the inspector came out they want to make sure they see all this rebar before the concrete gets poured this is going to be in a two-step process where the footings are going to get poured I believe they're about 8 in tall once that's done tomorrow they're going to take these molds off and build new molds where the actual stem wall over the foundation is going to come up now it's going to come up quite a bit because we're going to bury some of it below and leaving some exposed so that when water starts draining it doesn't start flooding into it second thing they're going to do is after these footings and the stem wall up poured they're going to start waterproofing it and they're going to just basically roll on a waterproofing on the side of the stem wall that's going to be Beed on the ground again to keep any of the moisture from seeping back into it I don't know if you can tell by the uh the fact that I'm holding my voice but it's going to be a very exciting day today so the cement truck
