What happens here

After the aggregate base is compacted, a layer of sand is spread over the entire patio area. This sand, known as bedding sand, is leveled precisely to a depth of approximately one inch using screed rails and a wooden plank. It's crucial not to compact or disturb this sand layer once it's screeded, as it serves as a level bed for the pavers to sit on.

Goal: Create a precise, uncompacted 1-inch bedding layer of sand.
