What happens here
With the bedding sand perfectly screeded, workers begin to lay the concrete pavers. They start by establishing a 'soldier course' – a border row of pavers laid end-to-end – around the perimeter of the patio. For this project, a solid-colored paver was chosen for the soldier course to stand out. Following the border, the main field pavers are laid in a 'running bond' pattern, ensuring tight joints and a consistent layout. Pavers are stacked in small piles on the already laid sections to facilitate access and maintain the pattern. The running bond pattern involves offsetting each paver by half its length from the paver in the previous row, creating a staggered, brick-like appearance.
Goal: Install concrete pavers in a running bond pattern with a defined soldier course border.
