Simple Way To Hide Your Awkward Laundry Closet

What happens here

To achieve the desired aesthetic, the installed shiplap walls are spray-painted a cool flat black. This method ensures an even finish and prevents gunking up the grooves, which would occur with rolling. While the paint dries, prepare the 3/4-inch maple plywood shelf and countertop pieces. Apply edge banding veneer to all exposed plywood edges to give them a clean, finished look. Then, stain the shelves and countertop with a weathered oak finish, allowing adequate drying time before installation. This preemptive painting and staining prevent the need for extensive masking later.

Goal: Spray paint the installed shiplap walls with black paint. Prepare the plywood shelf boards by applying edge banding and staining them with a weathered oak finish.
