Simple Way To Hide Your Awkward Laundry Closet
What happens here
Measure and precisely cut the flexible laminate (e.g., Formica) to size for the countertop. Apply laminate adhesive (contact cement) evenly to both the plywood countertop surface and the back of the laminate sheet using a small roller. Allow the adhesive to become tacky (approximately 15 minutes) before carefully placing the laminate onto the countertop. Use a laminate roller to firmly press the laminate down, ensuring full adhesion and removing any air bubbles. Trim any excess laminate flush with the countertop edges using a trim router and finish with a file for a smooth, rounded edge. This process is repeated for the front edge of the countertop.
Goal: Cut and apply flexible laminate (e.g., Formica) to the countertop to create a durable, waterproof surface.
