To prepare the shutters for re-installation, especially if you are using new 'Easy-Lok Shutter Buttons' that are a different color than your shutters, you may want to pre-paint the fasteners. Place the fasteners on a piece of cardboard (the video shows using small pegs in the cardboard to hold them upright) and spray paint them to match your shutters. Additionally, to ensure correct orientation during re-installation, use tape to mark the back of each shutter with an arrow pointing upwards. This will prevent accidentally installing them upside down, which would require cutting off the fasteners again.

So, the shutters go in. The arch side is up first. The flat side is goes on the bottom. We've got our shutters. We've labeled them. Put tape on the back with an arrow pointing up. So, it's a reminder to us how they're installed. We've actually preainted the these shutters. We didn't paint them. They're stock white and the the easy lock fasteners were kind of a light tan color. So, we put them on a cardboard and prepainted them. And then when you're hammering them, if they get scratched at all, you can just touch them up.
