Painting Trim Using Lacquer Toner. FISHEYE RESOLVED!

What happens here

To avoid problems like 'fish eye' and ensure proper adhesion for lacquer, the speaker recommends a simple yet effective cleaning method: use warm, soapy water, specifically mentioning Dawn dish soap, to clean the wood surfaces. This is considered the best bet for preparing wood for lacquer. It is explicitly stated that any type of chemical cleaner should be avoided, as these can leave residues that lead to fish eye problems. The video concludes by reiterating the techniques shown, including spraying and then back-brushing when necessary, reinforcing the need for careful surface preparation.

Goal: This final step provides the correct method for cleaning wood surfaces before lacquer application to prevent issues like fish eye, advising against chemical cleaners and recommending simple soap and water.
