What happens here

Begin by carefully removing the fireplace mantle if one is present. Next, prepare the surrounding areas for painting by masking. Use a 3M Hand Masker to efficiently apply 9-inch paper and 1-inch tape around the edges of the fireplace, particularly where it meets the ceiling and walls. Cover the fireplace insert (glass doors, brass trim) with plastic and tape to protect it from the stain. Also, cover any nearby furniture with plastic drop cloths to prevent accidental overspray.

Goal: Prepare the fireplace and surrounding area for painting by removing the mantle and masking.
