How To Paint Or Refinish Kitchen Cabinet Doors. Cabinet Painting Hacks.

This is Chris the IDO painter and this is a multi-part series of painting cabinets and lacquering them with an HVLP. And this video is how we go about top coating them with our lacquer using the HVLB sprayer. Now we're working on setting up our booth within inside this kitchen. We've got a window right over here. This is where we're going to be venting out everything. The lacquer and um all the chemicals will be vented out this window with a fan. We're dropping plastic around all these walls. And I'll show you inside the kitchen right here just got our spray booth set up right on the other side of that plastic wall. Get our cabinets. Starting to take our doors apart. Get them ready to be prepped. We're using 1 in cut hooks right here to screw into the top portion of the door where you can't see it. We're using a 3/32 drill bit. Actually drill the pilot holes to screw a box into. And when we're all done, we'll unscrew them and we'll just cut up those holes in the end when we're all done. This is how we'll be spraying our drawers and door fronts right here. Got hanger and our hooks right there. [Music] So, we got our rack set up. This is where we're going to be spraying right here. We got our stand made out of PVC pipe hangers. Install our hooks on our doors so we can hang them and begin spraying them. Here's this is our spray booth. We've got our little opening that will be passing it out into the kitchen. Here's some of the doors. The sprayer is set up outside of our spray booth so it doesn't get contaminated and the filter doesn't get too clogged. And then we're going to be passing and walking the doors out of the kitchen to the other side of this wall and hanging them on our hanger. So you can see everything's all set up, ready to go. Getting close to beginning to spray. Here's our fan set up in the window blowing out. So it'll suck out all the dust and the smell from the lacquer and undercoat out of here so it make it easier to breathe. But going to be putting on monkey suits, covering up, wrapping ourselves all up, covering our shoes, covering our hands. Be wearing 3M respirators with charcoal filters. Heat. [Music] Heat. [Music] Heat. [Music] Heat. [Music] Heat. [Music] show you how we got these things. We got a wooden hanger right here. Got our cup hooks hanging right on the wooden hanger. That's how we're actually hanging them and spraying them. But one person is going to be spraying them right on the other side of this boot. This is the kitchen right here. Going to be handing them right through here. Then we're going to just be hanging them right here on this rack that we actually fashion out of two ladders and a long um closet dowel rod. Just got a hole drilled in our dowel right here. Got a zip ties going through the hole in the dowel so it's secure to the ladder. So this dow rod doesn't actually roll off the ladder. Put your stuff in. Move your legs. [Music]
