Understanding Ram Pump Operation

Nonstop water pumping system no power...complete simple setup explained!
What happens here
The creator explains the fundamental principle of a ram pump. Water flows down a 'drive pipe' from a higher elevation, building momentum. This momentum is used to force a small portion of the water uphill to a much higher elevation through a 'delivery pipe'. The system uses two main valves: a 'waste valve' (or impulse valve) that rapidly opens and closes to create pressure surges, and a 'check valve' that allows water to enter an air chamber and then the delivery pipe, preventing backflow. For every foot of vertical drop in the drive pipe, the ram pump can lift water approximately 7 feet uphill. The current setup has a 6-7 foot drop, allowing it to pump water over 40 feet uphill.
Goal: Grasp the mechanical principles behind how a ram pump functions.
