Nonstop water pumping system no power...complete simple setup explained!

What happens here

Before the ram pump can operate automatically, it needs to be 'primed' by siphoning water through the drive pipe. This involves manually drawing water through the pipe until it flows out the end, creating a continuous column of water. Once the siphon is established, the water will flow, causing the waste valve to begin cycling (opening and closing), and forcing water up the delivery pipe. The video shows the initial trial runs, where a missing O-ring in the system prevents consistent operation, highlighting the importance of proper sealing. After replacing the O-ring, the ram pump successfully cycles, creating a steady flow of water uphill.

Goal: Start the ram pump and ensure continuous water flow uphill.

Tools and materials

  • Screwdriver Klein — Tightening valve components or hose clamps
  • O-ring — Ensuring a watertight seal in the ram pump's union fitting
