Nonstop water pumping system no power...complete simple setup explained!

What happens here

The poly-pipe from the ram pump is connected to an automatic float valve (Trough-O-Matic brand) installed in a galvanized metal stock tank. The float valve is attached to the rim of the tank and regulates the water level, automatically refilling as water is consumed by livestock. A T-fitting is used to allow the main water line to continue further down the fence line to additional stock tanks, ensuring continuous water supply across multiple grazing areas. The slow but steady flow from the ram pump (approximately 100 gallons in 3-4 hours) is sufficient to keep multiple tanks full over time. This passive system eliminates the need for manual refilling or electrical pumps.

Goal: Automate water delivery to livestock tanks.

Tools and materials

  • Automatic Float Valve Trough-O-Matic — Controlling water flow into the stock tank
  • Galvanized Metal Stock Tank — Holding water for livestock
  • T-fitting — Allowing the poly-pipe to branch to multiple tanks
