What happens here

This video details the process of diagnosing and resolving a fuel system clog in a Ford 2910 tractor caused by water contamination in diesel fuel. The solution involves siphoning old fuel, replacing a faulty fuel valve (bunk) with one containing an integrated filter, and adding specialized fuel additives to prevent future issues. The video emphasizes the importance of proper fuel maintenance for diesel engines due to modern fuel's hygroscopic properties.

folks today on the Stony Ridge Farm Channel we're back wrenching on the 4D 2910 we're going to give you the best pro tip for fuel system problems you've ever had on any you can hear it on idle that's what we're looking for all right guys this is the 4291 tractor we're going to rev it up here and the engine is going to choke down and die soon it's going to die because there's a clock in the fuel system there's a clog in the fuel system because the fuel has developed water in it I'll talk to you a little more about this we're going to rev it up until it shuts down as my good friend Tony would say and then there's that all right if you've got a tractor that runs for a little bit and then it cuts off then you probably have a fuel system issue that's how you diagnose it we're going to show you how to fix it and here's what I use to keep this from happening in the future on any vehicle on the Stony Ridge Farm this is called diesel fuel power service I want you to see that I will post links to both of these products this is called clear Diesel from Power service this is not a sponsored video I'm telling you this is what I use I've never talked to this company before this is called clear diesel it cleans the fuel tank okay removes water and slime and prevents fuel failures I've got a fuel failure here I'll also post a link at the end of this video to replacing the fuel injection pump on this tractor the fuel killed the pump I have another tractor in here a Massie Ferguson 240 and we're going to show you how to replace that pump too so be sure you're subscribed every bit of fuel that enters this farm that is used in a piece of Machinery gets Diesel power service stick around we're going to show you how I fixed this problem for the third time this is the final time so we're going to siphon out the fuel in here and we're going to get this valve off and I've got a replacement valve I'm going to show you something that's supposed to be here that isn't here so if you got an old tractor or a new tractor I don't care what kind of tractor it is diesel fuel has less humidity in it than the air outside therefore consequently it pulls humidity to your fuel in other words if it's 80% humidity outside and the diesel fuel is 2% humidity it's going to suck water to your fuel what does that cause that causes sweat inside your tank this is called the perfect siphon and there's a little ball in the end right here that's going to help us siphon all the old fuel out of this fuel tank fuel is traveling right down through there and going right into that tank this is what's giving us problems this is the bottom of the fuel tank this line goes in goes through our fuel filter system filters through our fuel water separator right here our fuel filter and into the injection pump all right injection pump's been replaced filter's been replaced fuel water separator has been fixed we've got fuel in here yet we're starving for fuel as if I had pulled the kill switch let's make sure my battery's off there we go key out it's always the best way to make sure also if you don't use two tub of towels you are not living right I love tubit towels they work great again not sponsored just stuff that I use from day to day here so let's get busy and we'll pull this guy apart now if we start seeing fuel dribble out of this then we know we don't have a clog and there's a deeper issue but I know we have a clog taking her loose if we get fuel and we know we might have yep it's clogged that's it totally this is the third time I've taken this piece off this is the last time I'm taking this off I fully expect some fuel to leak out of this it's okay there it goes that's long life tractor preservative in case you guys don't know look in there all right I'm going to blow it out in my hand here in just a second loosen this valve it's all the way open look at that that's what came out of the bottom of that fuel tank is it Rusty is it really bad inside there no it's not bad inside there but this is from years of sitting okay the wor thing you could possibly do is let a piece of Machinery like this sit I hope these threads match up I ordered this on Amazon um pretty sure they're going to match up just fine but do you see a difference here what's missing the filter the filter has basically vaporized or liquefied in there and came out this one is threaded in this one was not it was just a pushin type so hopefully we have a better scenario presented to us here now this filter will allow any trash and debris in that fuel tank to not simply fall down into the bung but actually filter it and it can be all the way up to here so if we start running out of fuel early we'll know why but this will also cause all the debris to fall in around the filter instead of falling into the hole but we're going to go ahead and test fit it make sure it's going to screw up into this bung and that's what you call this I I know it's kind of funny to say but that is a bung any hole in a tank or a barrel like that is a bung bung hole okay it's in I'm going to go ahead and screw it all the way in there I think we're going to be just fine that's a tapered thread so again you can see it's a tapered thread no need for any type of Teflon tape even though I had it on hand just in case I've got to pull this piece off right here so that we can retrofit our uh fuel fitting back on there oh there's an o-ring in there talk to your dentist ask them ask them this is what I did my dentist went to all disposable tools and I just asked them if they had any more of these and they said yeah we want to get rid of them too we couldn't bear to throw them away they cost so much that works so I got to pull my old o-ring off probably doesn't need an O-ring but it had one in place we'll pull that old one there we go pop a new o-ring in fuel tolerant O-ring for sure there we go sweetly make sure our valve is in the open position so we make sure we get fuel flow back together get our line wrench in here all right if you don't yet have a problem like this and you're experiencing some issues with diesel fuel just know that this is not great grandpa's diesel fuel this is new diesel fuel and it sucks moisture out of the air and causes it to rot in the tank run your tractors that is the number one thing I can tell you to do we're going to fill back up and fire this puppy back up and should purr like a kitten tub of towels this is how it works got greasy hands whatever I got fuel all up and down my arms all you do is wipe it and it's gone no more Gojo no more dirty sink no more wife complaining about a dirty sink this is way easier than using Gojo or that grit stuff that you used to use in Middle School bam totally clean then more octane 93 here we go all right now you know how to keep your hands clean you know what to put in your diesel fuel and you know if you've had a fuel problem like I had right there exactly what to do guys hit that like button subscribe to the channel again Diesel power service I'll post a link link down the video description I buy it by the case thank you we'll see you next time on the Stony Ridge hope you enjoyed this video hey buddy don't sink I'm not that fat this is for maintenance this is an 11/16 get yourself this is not 1116 I sing all day long what you do with your rag dummy there it is you guys are remember be and butt head bu Holio you want to fall down you don't have a problem like this or you're experiencing I'm going to drop the camera guys is that okay one more time
