do it for Dale all right everybody this is a totally different video than you've ever seen from the Stony Ridge farmer I'm in a race suit I'm at a race track I've never done this before in my life and I just did my first few laps in this car today we're at Virginia International Raceway and I'm going to take you guys for some laps there's a race at 1:30 we're at about 9:00 a.m. right now and we're going to be racing later today first time ever never done this before this is brought to you by my friends at Meeks pick and po at Martinsville Virginia that's who I bought my stock car from and again this is my first time ever attempting to race guys buckle up this is insane let's take you guys around the race car first and show you what we have this is an Acura TL Circa 2002 2003 somewhere in here are my sunglasses because I thought I'd need sunglasses I don't need sunglass gles I need toilet paper cuz I'm about to crap myself this is insane guys super fast super fun unbelievably fast so what we're going to do here is we're going around the South uh part of the track here at vir Virginia International Raceway here in Milton North Carolina near Danville or Milton Virginia near Danville Virginia virtually any car that wants to run can run here I am super impressed with this Accura buddy so guys what I haven't told you is that today's race is racing forh heroes.org it's a charity race that I was entered into by Chris Meeks from Meeks Auto Recycling or Meek's pick and pool and there'll be a number on his car here in just a minute this is literally the fifth lap that I turned and my first lap is going to be a little bit slow I'm getting a feel for the track here but you'll see as we continue to progress here we'll get a little bit faster and a little bit faster and that silver car that just went by we're going to catch him here in just a minute so what I'm driving is an accurate TL check out this weird looking little car that's getting ready to come up behind me it's a dedicated race car probably $130,000 car it has a GSXR 1000 engine you'll hear it when it goes [Music] by that thing was moving but unfortunately it broke down and did not make the final race so vir we're running the South course at Virginia International Raceway again this is near Danville Virginia the course is not flat it's not level at [Music] all this car was actually destined for the junkyard and an Acura TL is fast [Music] so again this is just my lap one right here and these cars are much much faster than me so I'm waving them on by just so I can get a feel for the track but as you can see once we round this first turn I go ahead and lay into it I give this car every single thing it's got everything it's got here it comes [Music] so about right here I'm starting to run right around 100 mph the car is electronically limited to 110 that's me telling you I'm going 100 and this turn right here is a hair pin that guy was flying [Music] so I've got some advantages as I go around the course and I'm learning how to drive and there's Chris we've caught up with him Chris Meeks is the sponsor of this he's the one that donated all the money and everything for uh the racing for Heroes super cool racing for Heroes does this race all over the place I guess all over the country you can go to racing forh heroes.org I'll post a link down the video description for you guys but actually passed Chris right here and I turned some faster laugh times than he did in his full race car so I was pretty impressed with that accurate TL so this is the most critical area in the course going around that curve I just went around and right about here I'm running 110 M an hour you get up here you'll see some numbers on the left here in just a minute where you're approaching a turn where you slowed down and uh this car passed me earlier and we got him we caught up with [Music] them and this is where I learned to not break in a [Music] turn Chris got me again so this big swooping turn right here you're running about 80 to 90 miles an hour through that turn and this car is going right on by me as I'm running that fast I felt like I got a pretty good idea of the braking on the car they put some extra big fat juicy brakes on it and they put some really super sticky tires so this car would hold to turn like nobody's business it really outc cornered most of the cars on the course that's it for my practice lab big shout out to Racing for heroes.org I'll talk to you guys a little bit here in just a second about what went on that was so fun gosh so fun well found the spare key D guys I don't know how to explain just how fun that really was guys thanks a lot for joining me today I just thought I'd bring you a little clip of what I'm doing this Saturday afternoon it's the 22nd of February and we're out here just ripping it up having a great time got in the grass a little bit this a good time guys this is the fella that made it all happen this is Chris Chris Meeks with Meek's picking pool out of Martinsville take that number down if you need some Auto Parts dude we were nose to tail there for a little bit you see me getting the grass a little tickle of the grass there we was having some good hard racing out there yeah it trading back and forth for the position no paint traded not yet what is this car that you got here this is a like a 06 Camaro or something a 2012 Camaro with the V6 in it okay we built this to go run uh local short track and they changed the class was kind of been sitting around so yeah we' work it out and go have some fun with it no doubt no doubt I need to bring my car out here now the one I bought from you yeah it be insane they have the open practice stuff you know you could have run that this morning I didn't n it needs it needs a little bit of a little massaging well guys this is Chris this is the reason I'm here today what an awesome time thanks man thank you we still got the race to go I'm not going to be able to video during the race it won't let me put any GoPros all over the cars but man it's so fun I duct tape GoPros all over that car so probably got some pretty cool footage of you jamming up behind me should have bumped me a little bit little bump and run what you do see you guys next time on the Stony Ridge get my woo this is insane I have never done anything like this before and I don't know if I'll ever get to do it again it's nuts [Music]
