My Fourth Race EVER in Vintage NASCAR Monte Carlo! Things Get Crazy...

What happens here

The driver confirms there is more oil on the track, making it challenging to maintain control. He describes his car's handling as a 'pendulum effect,' struggling with the loose rear end. He compares it to running through grass with cleats, emphasizing the lack of grip. He notes that he's racing against a 15-year-old and decides to patiently mirror drive, waiting for his opponent to make a mistake. He describes this as 'rolling chess' on the track.

Goal: Adjust driving style to car's handling and track hazards

my tires. I really don't like the whole competition caution thing because it just turns into a single file parade because everybody's doing the same thing. They're all pacing themselves to save their tires and there's no racing. If you ask me, the competition cautions are just there for people who are out of shape to catch their breath. If you haven't figured it out by now, I am a little fired up about this. And we've been through some crap in the last couple months of this series. And if I were on the outside looking in, I would want someone to be honest about that, not just be vanilla and gloss over it. So, I'm not going to say everything obviously, but I am going to tell you how I feel. So, these voiceovers will be interesting. Now, you get some intensity until things settle out for the first couple laps cuz people are trying to get in there for their track position. And I'm still not comfortable with what my car is doing right now. It feels like, if you've never driven one of these things, when I go into the turn, it feels like I turn in and it's it feels fine at first. It's the pendulum effect, like the visual of a a tube being pulled behind a boat. The boat turns and there's a delay and then the inner tube goes whipping out. It feels like I had a 200lb inner tube tied to the back of my car that would just whip out the back of the thing as I was going in. And I'm not sure. I think that maybe the extra fuel load cuz for the entire season I've been running my car the same way and I just added I don't know how many extra pounds back there. A good bit. Enough to feel like I didn't think you'd be able to feel it that much, but you can.
