What happens here

When we first walked into this vacant property built in the 1970s, it was frozen in time, partially torn apart, and honestly a little daunting. But after a few months of planning and a lot of cleaning, we’re finally knocking out the "Small Wins" that lead to the "Radical Changes." Logan has been absolutely crushing it on turning this house into a livable home! We finally have lights in the big abandoned workshop with functional power! One step closer to a working shop. I am very excited to get to building race cars and working on our other projects here, as well as getting a tractor to do some land management projects. We are glad you are here for the ride!! Easily vacuum away dust, debris, and small trash from your car every day. It doesn't take up much space in your car, allowing you to clean anytime, anywhere while driving.

This house is 50 years old. We just bought it a couple months ago, and it's been fairly neglected for the last 20 years. This is our third video of working on it, making progress, and getting it figured out. A lot has happened in the last couple of months. A lot, not so much like one big project, but a lot of little things. We got power working in the big old garage, the big building here. Was able to get the Rolls-Royce winched up onto our forost lift here to start making room for some things. And what prompted me to do that? If you'll see over here, this is an SB2 NASCAR engine. I think this is a Darn Hart Incorporated engine. It's got Darn Hart Incorporated heads on it and other parts like the pointer and the balancer. They're all DEI stuff. I don't know. We're going to figure that out and you're definitely going to see that in a future video. And this is another Dodge R5P7 engine. It's got a cracked block. It was frozen. Got a really good deal on it. It's an old Bill Davis racing motor. Probably the biggest unanswered question from that first walkthrough video we did here is why is this Rolls-Royce in here? Where did it come from? I totally did not say anything about it the in the first video because I didn't think anybody was going to watch that video who didn't already know who we were. And boy, was I wrong. And maybe it's a good thing I didn't say anything about it cuz in the comments people are just like, "Where's that Rolls-Royce there? You didn't say nothing about it. Oh, you should. You got that Rolls-Royce for free. It was all that stuff already in there. No, no, this is ours. We brought it here. It's a flood car. It wasn't flooded enough to get water in the engine, but we had to rip all the interior out cuz it was all moldy. So, it's been sitting like this and it's dried out, gutted form for 3 4 years now. We bought it a few years ago before the direction of the channel pivoted. Maybe we'll do something with it someday. Maybe somebody wants to buy it. It's still got the V12 in it. And for an update on this garage here, we are going to spray foam it. But before that happens, I have to go through and figure out how to straighten these window frames cuz you see it's it's way out of whack. So much so that it doesn't even close the whole way. And we got to get that figured out before we do the foam. I guess we don't have to, but it would make it a heck of a lot easier to not have to chip away foam to fix this. And they're both like that. That one's crooked, too. And so is the door. So, we thought that's weird. It is the whole building shifted. We measured it. No, it's not. Whoever put it up just got like half on the wrong side of a mark and then just staying that way the whole way down. So, they're all parallel. It's funny. The studs that are on both sides of the windows are straight up and down, but the rest of them aren't. It's the strangest thing. So, you can expect to see that in a future update video. We're definitely going to film it. We're going to film the whole insulating process. And I got to change that back wall. I've decided I don't like that corrugated stuff because the way it the way it overlaps on there, it pushes out. So, if we ever put some kind of siding over it, there would be a bump in it forever that you wouldn't really be able to get rid of. And I just don't like it. I'd rather it'd be like 17 sheets of OSB or something. So, I got to take all that down, which is why I had to unclog the log jam of get those engines out of my truck so I could use my truck to go get boards to go do this with. And then I went to the PRI show and then I had to edit a bunch of videos cuz, you know, that's like our job. had to do a bunch of video stuff and then Christmas and then now and I'm like, "Oh, wow." Yeah, I was like about to do that and then it was just like slipping on ice. It's three weeks go by. Can't even remember what I was working on. Such as the life of self-employment. I'm sure a lot of you can relate. >> I got a new chandelier >> and it is so much better than the old prison lantern that was hanging there. >> There's 12 light bulbs in that and there was four in the original one and only two of them worked. So Mitchell's dad came for Christmas and I had to clear out this entire room for him. So now I got to go in here, try to managed to pick up this solid wood table all by myself. You couldn't walk through here because there were so many boxes in here. The man and the woman who built this house and lived here for 50 years, well this table he made, they didn't take it with them. I'm going to move it to the dining room and we're going to use it. I have a bunch of projects going on at once. Shelby, stop it. Okay, I got a moving blanket. >> There we go. I did it. >> This was like one of two places where all of the boxes of stuff went to. So, it was full of everything. >> Like, this is the only room besides the living room with original flooring. >> And it had a lot of the leftover stuff in here. And you found some cool things in there, too. >> August 21st, 1978. Perfect condition. March 5th, 2001. This is the Elvis Christmas album. So, this is like a Elvis calendar. Collectible Elvis stamps. Elvis. It's Elvis. Johnny Cash's greatest hits. Hank Williams. I'm definitely gonna play these two. Another Davy Allison card for my collection. This is full of Elvis albums. Some unopened. More Elvis. I'm just going to assume that these are all for Elvis. Oh, yeah. I had to spend like 8 hours shampooing this carpet. It was disgusting. [snorts] They left this mattress behind. It's a Beauty Rest mattress. [music] I know it's a really nice mattress. It has no rips or stains. Well, I take that back. It has no stains. I accidentally ripped part of the [music] side of it trying to move it by myself. We won't talk about that, though. So, I'm just going to use the commercial carpet extractor on it and get all the gunk out of it. I did buy a real carpet shampooer and it was supposed to be here a few days ago, but we're getting to a point where [music] I do not have time for everything. So, I'm going to at least do the floor where the bed frame is going to go so that I can at least start putting the bed together, and then I can shampoo the rest of the carpet when the actual one comes. I forgot to mention that this is a commercial carpet extractor for detailing vehicles. I just wanted to show how like gross this was. Now, it's time to refill the clean tank. Woo. This is the best method to fill it up because I have no other way to fill it up other than like filling up a picture. Thank god all these shower heads detach. >> I'd say your biggest achievement has been the functionality of this kitchen and that room right there. >> Oh my god, >> you did a lot of stuff. Show us the cabinet liners. >> All these cabinets were just like full of like garbage and I had to clean them all out. Every time you open cabinets here, you find new cool stuff that you didn't see before. A report card from 1953. Okay. Well, I guess I can start measuring. Where did I put the measuring tape? I lose it. Why am I like this? Where did I drop it? Aha. Okay, I found it. Cleaning out the cabinets. I think these are carnival glass if anybody knows better. Uh, correct me, but Imperial Handcrafted USA. I had to clean them all out and then put liner in. Just my luck. So, it comes in packs of up to 240 in. So, you can either get 120 in or 240 in. Well, I need 250 in. And these are obviously like falling apart, but it is what it is until we can afford to do a new kitchen. Just buy the things you're telling me. That'll be a while. Unless these videos keep getting a lot of views. Yes. Watch this whole video, tell your friends about it, and help her get >> lots of really good food. So, I deserve a good kitchen. >> Yep. Click the bell and make sure you subscribed. It'll help Logan get a kitchen faster. >> So, this is the table they left behind. I refinished it. I didn't do a great job, but I did it. Big ass bench. So, one person had the right idea and they had what we call good nut discipline and they threaded the nuts back on there so they don't get lost. Someone else, maybe it was the same person, I don't know, did not thread them back on. And there is a nut missing. Do you think I'm in a position to throw that? Okay, down to the last nut. Then I got to go find one. That'll be fun. Every time I go look for anything, it's like an expedition. Actually, I'll take this one as a reference. This is hilarious. I went Well, one, it's dark out and I don't want to go to one of the shops to look for stuff. So, I have my Mustang parts in the garage. So, I just walked in there and I picked out one of my bolts from my Mustang bolt bags. And this one will fit perfectly. It's not going to fall apart. >> I was just up here thinking, "Oh, dang. I wish I brought my camera up here. I should be filming this cuz somehow I found myself on the roof." Meanwhile, I'm taking pictures on my phone like you idiot. So, here I am. I'm on the roof. This is how this goes. We had a water leak in the front of the motor home. Some cables over there. I think the old sealant gave gave way like the hatch on the Edmond Fitzgerald at 7:00 p.m. Anyway, it was leaking up there. So, I crawled up there, blew the leaves off, put some die core on that, and then I was up there and I noticed standing water on here and I thought, "Wow, I should really get up there and blow those leaves off, too, cuz that skylight has a problem with leaking and heavy rain." thought we fixed it, but I guess there's a tiny leak that came back. But, uh, you can totally see how the ADHD squirrel brain works. So, I go up there, I'm like, "Oh, it's okay. I'll do that." And I'm like, "Oh, well, now I got to do that." And I'm like, "Well, I'm up here. I might as well do this, too." I've also discovered there's a third flu on this chimney. And the master bedroom is right there. And there's obviously a jut out in the wall where the chimney is. And I bet this guy built this house with the option to have a fireplace in the master bedroom. I can I don't know what else the the third flu could be for because the main one's for the main one. The little one's for the one in the basement. I used the echo blower to clear off all of this a few days ago. It was clean maybe. Yeah, probably 3 days ago. Now you can't see the driveway again. And I have all the doors open on Uncle Rob. That's our Yukon. For those of you who don't know, my dad bought that new. Then my uncle drove it for 12 years. And then he gave it to me and we put a turbo on it. >> You know how to do a burnout? and but I'll try. >> So, we call it Uncle Rob cuz that's my uncle's name who gave me gave it to me. And we use it to move things over here, but all the things in there had their funky old gross building smell. So, I had the doors open to let it air out some. I really feel like Lion King up here. This is my kingdom. That little spot right there is not. And they have an easement to use our driveway. And our line goes down to a little bit into that pond kind of right through there back into that flat there all the way back comes to a corner just on the other side of the big building over there. Straight down the hill meets a corner. So it's kind of like that. I don't even know what's down there yet. I haven't been down there. But that little flat spot you could see between the pond and the bottom of the hill, that used to be farmed land back in the ' 50s, '60s, and way before that. I like it up here, but I should probably get down on before it gets darker. That's not really fixable. So, I think this will have to be refinished and we could refinish it to actually match other things cuz this doesn't match anything in this house and it wasn't made to. That was less violent than it could have been. Other part of that bench is in the basement. Man, that's going to suck. I didn't grow up with a basement. And call me weird, but basements are scary. I watch too many scary movies to think hanging on the basement is cool. I haven't set it down one time. I wasn't going to hit you. Not okay. I haven't filmed any clips in a long time. [music] I've been extremely extremely extremely busy trying to catch up on everything, all the t-shirt orders and unpacking stuff and cleaning stuff cuz everything has layers of dust on it and moving is hard especially when the house is deconstructed and we don't have furniture really. um like normal places where you would put things. We don't have a place to put them yet or like I don't know you can't put stuff in the bathroom vanity cuz there's no drawers doors on the vanity in the master whatever. We're not sleeping in there yet. I have never hosted Christmas before. And we were just gonna stay home, just the two of us, and like enjoy Christmas and our first home, our forever home together. Um, but Mitchell's dad wanted to come, so of course he's welcome to come if he wanted to. So yeah, he just knows that the house is under construction. I've been doing a lot a lot a lot a lot. That um table I finished I finished refinishing it and let's see. It is a work in progress. Everything is a work in progress. I'll show that later when the um when it's light outside again. >> Today we're going to check out the Hodo mini vacuum. I like having a little thing like this in my car all the time because when you do your deep clean, you know, you drive it for a couple days, there's crumbs and stuff in there again. Well, you keep something like this handy, then you can touch it up and you don't have to do the big clean out every month or so. It's the smallest yet strongest mini vacuum with 20,000 PA power. Perfect for vacuuming narrow spaces and gaps at home or in your car. Not only is it a vacuum, it doubles as a blower. Also, it's rechargeable with a USBC. same thing that the new iPhones use. You don't need any extra cables in your car to use it. And with the included accessories, it vacuum sealable bags, inflates, and deflates inflatables. It has three speed modes for different [clears throat] cleaning needs: high, low, and boost. It's a 4 in one design, vacuum, air duster, inflator, and pump. The filter cartridge is easy to remove, and it it comes apart in itself, too, so you can dump it, and you can take the filter itself out to get more of the debris out of there. It's actually pretty easy to use. You can grab yours at the link down here. >> I refinished it. I didn't do a great job, but I did it. >> Looks good enough to me. >> I got a million things to do. So, it wasn't like, oh, I'm going to take my time sanding and making it perfect cuz it is imperfect anyway cuz it [clears throat] wasn't a log cabin. >> That's the style. It's It's rustic. I got this rug off of Amazon and it was like 150 bucks maybe something like that which is very cheap for a rug and I liked it so much that that's like the same one that I have. >> That's good to know. I didn't know about that. >> How about your record player here? Did you buy this so we could play the records that we found in the house? >> Yeah, cuz this is a record player. Um but it needs to be fixed. It still works. Like I can get this to spin, but it needs a new pin thingy. >> Stylus. Is that what they call it? >> Uh I think it's like the needle. >> A needle. Yeah. I don't know. >> I don't know. I'd have to read the directions on this. >> How old is this thing? I don't know if they >> Very old. It's not plugged in. >> Oh, I just wanted to feel like what the knobs feel like. Are very stout. >> There's another record player in the room your dad stayed in. That piece of furniture was also a record player. >> Yeah, we should fix one of these. That would be cool. >> Yeah. >> Does anybody know about fixing record players or knows a good record player service channel that we could watch to learn this stuff? Until then, we got this little suitcase deal here. >> I think it's cool. >> Yeah, it is. I like it. >> And this is our hand-me-down tree. I had to cut all the lights out of it because the lights didn't work and put our own lights in it. >> Oh, yeah. That's what you said. This whole room is handme-down room except this rug, right? >> Yeah. Like your mom got me all those gingerbread things. Your dad and Lisa gave us this tree. They left this behind. They left this behind. The plates and stuff we use are handme-down plates from your dad's house. >> Yeah. Motor Silverware is like my great great great grandma's silverware from some farm in Michigan from the 1800s that my mom gave us. We use it every day and it's great. >> And it has some amount of silver in it. I don't know how much cuz it does tarnish and I have to like polish it. >> Well, its value just like quadrupled over the last 3 weeks. There's Shel's Christmas corner. I think it's funny that she knows which toys are hers and which toys are not her toys cuz she doesn't ever try to to eat those. >> Mhm. And she has lots of stuffed animals like that one. She stole that from Mitchell's mom's dog. >> She's a thief. So, what about your super awesome pink tool box? That was your Christmas present from me. >> My awesome Christmas gift. I love it so much. >> Merry Christmas. >> Yes, it is so cool. And it has plugins. And I haven't even used them yet, but I need to fill it with my own tools. All I have is like screwdrivers. >> We got to go on a quest to find pink tools. >> Yeah, WorkPro has a bunch. And we got an even better deal than what that is cuz it was a Black Friday deal. And then we got a discount on top of that >> cuz it was dented. >> Yes. We've been paying attention to all the comments even on the original and older videos of all you new people here. We're super glad you're here. We're glad you found us and we're glad that you're speaking up in the comments because we learn a lot of things reading the comments. It's fun to know that uh what we're doing can be helpful or like wholesomely entertaining in a way. And if you have information that could help us, please tell us. It's it's it's great. Like where can you find pink tools? >> I don't know. My pink ones that I already have I got on Amazon. That work pro brand. They make um breast cancer awareness tools. >> Oh. >> That supports breast cancer. Like the money goes to that. >> So this will be like your temporary house toolbox is why it's in here. >> Yeah. >> For doing all your projects. So she stopped raiding my toolbox in the race trailer. I can't find anything. It is exploded. Everything is all over the place. I do like that. >> Yeah, I do. >> I'm going to pick a paint color. Finish sanding this. Well, okay. First, I'm going to finish sanding this. Then, I'm going to pick a paint color cuz I have light now. And then I can put in the carpet with assistance from Donnie [snorts] if he's not too busy. >> Yeah, that's a lot of math. That's a cool hoodie. Where'd you get it? stapledautoworks.com. >> Everybody likes buying all these retro racing jackets and shirts and stuff and they don't even know anything about who the driver is or anything. So, if you get one of these, it's me and it comes from Logan's office. And it looks retro and cool. >> This is our makeshift bedroom cuz we can't use the master yet. It'll be a while. >> And this is what you just went on your another work bender working all night last night doing. This isn't even what I did all night. >> Oh, it's >> I did that yesterday. >> Oh, okay. Well, >> yeah. Well, I had to fix the wall in here and stuff, which obviously it's not perfect. >> It's a…
