Installing My BendPak XPR-10AS Two Post Lift From Summit Racing! Is It Worth Doing It Yourself?

What happens here

The presenter realizes they should have run the hydraulic hoses before standing up the lift posts. To address this, he retrieves a spark plug and ties it to a piece of string. He drops the weighted string through the internal channel of the lift post, then ties the hydraulic hose to the string and pulls it back up through the post, successfully routing the hose. To access the bottom of the hydraulic cylinder for connection, he uses a piece of wood as a temporary jack stand to slightly raise the lift carriage.

Goal: Connect the hydraulic hoses to the lift cylinders.

Tools and materials

  • Hydraulic Hoses BendPak — Connecting the power unit to the lift cylinders
  • Piece of Wood — Acting as a temporary jack stand for carriage access
  • Spark Plug — Weight for routing string through lift posts
  • String — Pulling the hydraulic hose through the posts

you can take do you have any electrical tape or any kind of tape at all yeah cause it said in the thing that the the depth of the concrete should be four and a quarter yeah it's kind of expensive that yellow tape is actually cheaper than the blue stuff at lowe's really yeah get it from a body shop supply place like an auto body supply store okay yeah like the commercial ones that mix paint and stuff where regular people don't go yeah like those kind of places those kind of places yep that yellow tape is like my favorite because it's like thick and waxy and i use it for fabricating stuff yeah see right in that depth i almost went all the way through the slab that's as thick as it is is it four and a quarter four and three quarter oh yeah we're good then and you still didn't go the whole way through so yeah we're we are within the realm of specification for safety on this thing yes sir yeah i damn for sure i don't want to put this in here if it falls over that would be bad yeah yeah i'd say it's got to be it says it's got to be cured for at least 28 days i think they put this concrete in in like 63. so i think it's uh dry enough oh you know yeah it's better to say so it's been curing since jfk was here last time yeah okay now all we gotta do is so what i figure is is we'll make sure this thing's lined up this way and then i'll throw in another one here and same thing on the other one and that way these should be aligned and then all we're going to do is take the big level make sure these are level and when we start drilling and bolting all down securely should be good okay sweet getting it set in place and started to put in the right spot is like the hardest part like like attacking something together when you're welding it once you got it like tacked you can just freaking weld it up and just go with it yeah mike left we got everything
