this lift is going to build way cooler stuff than it would have if it got bought by a normal person i don't have made this clear enough before if you didn't see the last video this lift was damaged and shipping beyond the point where someone could sell it to somebody so this is like what would end up in the scratch and dent aisle i got it because it's messed up that's how that works so today is the day we are going all out bob the builder we're going to put this lift in it's a bendpak lift from summit racing to post ten thousand pound i've never had a lift before i've always wanted one um i've also never installed one so we're gonna figure that out right now however they make it pretty easy because i got the uh the bendpak instructions on my phone here we should have everything we need uh john john lawson the owner triple seven has the hammer drill and stuff already because he installed all those ones himself we're gonna go through the hardware make sure it comes with the anchor bolts that it says it did once we know that we will most likely unbolt this stuff and move cars around because it's going to go somewhere around here try not to lose anything i'm good at that the concrete has to be 4.25 inches thick four and a quarter this is definitely more than that because it's like warehouse but i think we'll find out for sure so we had to run to home depot real quick at a really big level that's the one thing we needed that we don't have so here we are to get them and i'm going to continue talking to block out the background music so i don't get a copyright strike i'm probably just gonna buy the cheapest one because i don't know that i'm ever gonna need one of these again oh man we just got back and got a package from pro torque this is the converter for uncle rob for the four lady conversion one of the last two things we needed for it um we also need a transfer case well now we got everything pushed out of the way get this thing unbolted from here i really don't know what the best way to do this is but we're just gonna start doing it there's nothing that says how you should or should not do it for this at least that i saw they give you installation instructions not unpalating it instructions so we got to take that piece of wood stick it under the bottom so it supports both of them both of them and then bolt this uh big thanks to derrick for sending this on amazon i know we said something about it several videos ago now's the first time i've opened it up and used it and it's come in quite handy i don't know if that's the right size it's just what i grabbed so we'll see see if it fits too small it's too small neato for this little shipping pal there's like a you know there's some time in that so printed out the uh owner's manual and i took out just the installation part of it we're gonna make a shop binder here real quick if you ever heard of a shop binder i'm about to learn you something that you can use at home and it'll help you a lot because a staple is not going to go through this i feel like you're judging me for what i'm about to do right now i already did do you know what i'm doing yeah i'm not stupid you're making your own rings because the stapler won't work yep we call this a shop binder i don't know if you guys even saw that but i kind of just messed it up i forgot to use the vice or yeah vice grip on here to keep the top ripping well here you go poorly executed but it's going to last long enough to do what we need it for review the safety rules okay plan for electrical work okay planned make sure you have the necessary tools wide or narrow configuration we definitely want the wide configuration that's something you determine with this thing up here it may already be set that way i don't know maybe it's not maybe if you unbolt this and move it out this makes it wide i think that might be what it is we definitely want it wide though so we're going to dig into oh is this the thing that i just spent 9 000 pages printing out probably oh what do you know it was in the box well well now we have two cool yeah that's exactly what i printed out i just took out only the pages that we needed so whenever the office runs out of paper uh that's why logan was having a hard time getting those bolts undone and it kind of just occurred to me that this whole thing that thing that's been underneath was pushing out on both of them oh yeah that makes sense we are uh yeah we're trying to make it so we can put it into wide mode but all that's under here from being bent was kind of making that hard to do so maybe we should flip it over and take that off yeah can you help me flip it over i think you can get that off uh-huh cool here we're all about the reel and i'm just going to show you the reality of how you move these things across the floor it's kind of weird i don't know if this is actually how you're supposed to do it but it's working i just kind of like make my core tight and you know you wiggle it side to side and just lean on a little bit and it kind of just moves but what i'm doing is i've got you know that one's roughly where it needs to be so i put the top piece out here to figure out roughly where this one needs to be we have to get this thing bolted down so we can work on stuff because i am sick of the lack of progress turn it up stop messing around not there messing around before but just re-prioritize builds have to get done parts are piling up frontal rob it's ready to go this thing is the first step and we'll open up that springboard for everything else to get done everyone's asking where the escalade is it's right there i know i'm being literal and i'm being a jerk but we got to get the four lady putting uncle rob before we can get to the escalade um the engine actually has to come out and it's going to go to uh late model engines to get a refresh so that's the plan for that also i'm an idiot i don't know if you saw what i just did there oh i did thanks for saying something turn it around you know usually when you do something stupid like that i don't question you because i feel like you have a reason for it and i don't want to question it okay that's valid because i feel like sometimes you do say stuff like why is that there and then i'll tell you like oh well i left it there because i'm gonna do blah blah blah and then this and you're like oh okay which discredits when i'm actually being an idiot like now oh i i understand why you didn't say anything but i will still give you crap about it because well i don't know everything else to do right now i want it 20 feet from the wall that's what we're going for here so it's roughly 20 feet from the wall i went over and i measured that those lifts are 20 feet from that wall and there's enough room to work in front of it like you know break out the cherry picker pull out a motor wheel it out have the motor on a stand do stuff have the car there work bench room to breathe so i just modeled what how they have that set up over there it does say that the asymmetric lifts have different length cables i am now going to unbundle those and figure out which cable is the short one so we can get them uh run up in here it's kind of important stuff that's all that camera is yeah this is all i use what the that thing's itty bitty i know it's got a crack screen everything this is the same gopro i've filmed everything with since i started my channel i only have one gopro it's just just this one right here really go pro eight yep contacted some outside help just to make sure we do this right and now uh mike here is just taking a look at some of the things that we have to i guess chalk line because i've never used the chalk line before some people do it without it but it says you need one of the directions and i vowed to follow the directions so we're going to use one so let's go ahead and pop this chalk line on our 20 foot here i didn't even notice that but yeah it looks like it looks like they put these lines in here just for the sole purpose of lining it up yeah i thought they were like just reliefs because you know these have the relief slots in them but that's what this is for yeah that's awesome yeah well good job ben pack that's cool i bet they didn't have them there the first people were like why don't you just do this and they're like oh that's a great idea do let's change the program and make everyone's life easy okay right on there i'm gonna pull this thing really tight all right i got it pressing on it as far as i can that'll be our reference point i didn't mess up who are painting this white line messed up yeah yeah all right yeah we'll just disregard the white line then we're good yeah we'll just snap that line out farther so we make sure we have enough to reference it with i'll go like way out here just for fun i'm in wide configuration here it's 145 inches so we're going to measure out 145 on our line here and mark that out so we use the chalk line again from the center of the door to here finding the center by using something handy that i know is square i know i had this piece of metal cut and sheared at the metal place and all of their uh you know cutting mechanisms are really really precise so i can i can trust that this corner is a square or freaking dang enough close to it for what we're doing just held the chalk line up there made sure it was a right angle there and popped it to find the actual center of the door just uh just because we can don't really need to but if we have that it'll feel all warm and fuzzy inside just a little one more extra step of effort to make things nice while we're doing it you're not measuring that you're going we marked our center then you're going 72 and a half this way and then that way is that like the right way to do it or is that just how your brain likes it it's going to be easier to do it that way a lot easier okay versus that trying to split it in half well i just learned something new i'll use that next time i make a an ice tank or something instead of measuring the whole thing and splitting it find the center and then measure it twice from each side yeah you can do it that way it just makes it a little bit easier uh but if you're doing a little more precise measurements i always like to actually like so if i were to measure across this and then say i'm going to make two inch increments i'm not gonna go like two inches and mark it and then hold it here and go two inches yeah i'm gonna actually hold it here and go two four six eight so on and so forth so yeah and what i'm do what i do that when i fabricate stuff because the end of tape measures move i'll start on like inch two or three and i don't use the numbers i just use the spacing yeah that way you don't have the slack in the the tape measure right yeah yeah or if you're going to use the slacker in the tape measure use the same tape measure for the entire project and make sure you pull that slack tight yeah then at least if it's messed up it's all messed up the same now the nice thing is now we know we don't want to be any further back this way and then also once we stand this up we could be inside that line yeah we'll just throw a line nine and a half back from this and send it wherever it lands yeah yeah so what i'll do is mark nine and a half there on this end too then uh we can pop another line across here and be able to stand it up yeah because then we'll we'll just line it up so that these little slats are right over the chalk line because once you bolt that top piece up it's going to make the angle whatever it is anyway it's going to be fixed up there does this look way more scientific than before yeah yeah it's actually in the middle of the door now we have blue lines everywhere and we're about to make some more so now i just got to get the pulleys hooked up yeah you're going to run some wires for the running that's actually why he's here to like help wire it up and you know we're going to put a welder plug in for the frontius and that kind of stuff but you also have to know how to do this so professional supervision a little bit a little bit hey any professional supervision is better than all those monkeys on a football that's what it felt like before so i'm just gonna feed the cable into that slot i don't get why these pulleys are already bolted in here if you take them out to put it in but they leave all the other ones in a package where they just never fully took it apart because there is missing stuff i don't know it's weird yeah but we'll we're going to give it some better days this lift is going to build way cooler stuff than it would have if it got bought by a normal person okay so we're about to voice the flag at iwo jima again i'm helping pretty much once i realized you had it i was like okay i'm gonna go over here to help it come down i didn't even realize i had it because i was like damn that wasn't that heavy no it's really not that's what i'm saying or i guess they're just gonna do it and i'm gonna watch do you guys need my help are you guys like the dudes at iwo jima tanner ashton and ashton's brother guys little ashton's gonna watch this and you're gonna hurt his feelings i'll tell you where the gym is ashton [Music] i'll get you some good protein check the link in my description or you could become an electrician well since i'm a hell of a lot shorter than you i guess what i'll do is just go underneath again okay and just keep going i guess teamwork yeah all right [Music] so now we can use these neat lines we put all over the place get the outside of this lined up with that and our other line lined up with this little groove here that took about two seconds to do it the gopro didn't even boot up before you did that but now we can do the same thing over here and it should be in the right spot [Music] he doesn't even need my help this is like pretty simple i will say it's amazing how much frustration clouds your ability to think critically because i was so done with this thing yesterday i was like screw it i was wasting my time i was gonna have some buddy put it in and i'm leaving but you know now you know you come back out here after you sleep on it and you're like oh this is easy let me just stick my phone in there and find the thing i was looking for so let that be a lesson to you if you're frustrated you want to start throwing stuff sleep whether that be for a day or just a little bit just like you know calm yourself down start to think critically again if that's what you got to do sometimes you got to do it yeah no that's very true how often do you find yourself in that position very often what do you what you usually do take like a 15 minute break usually try to 5 10 15 whatever it takes and then just try to regroup and you go back and get it done yeah yeah or call for help that's always a big one that's like the eternal struggle is figuring out when am i just frustrated and when do i actually need help yeah it's knowing when to take a break and go this way yeah i think the v goes towards the front i wasn't even looking at the actual orientation of the pole yeah i'm pretty sure that's how it goes okay yeah and then this is our line here oh so this i'm actually looking at this i need to be looking at this like this because there's the front yeah yeah it was kind of funny you know i felt your pain whenever you were doing the video on the monte carlo whenever you dropped all the needle bearings yeah the drive shaft there you got really pissed off yeah i thought that was pretty uh yeah no yeah i was ready to start throwing stuff i'm not trying to be a dick but kissed off see that's it you just you get the reel here we'll ask her am i any different when the camera's on when i get mad about stuff then no i might just use words that i can't put on a video yeah yeah that's about the only difference [Music] yeah wow that was much smoother than when baylor was up there yeah yeah we're just setting a couple of the bolts in here so it doesn't okay those are him okay there's a good bit of variance in here on what it lets you do yeah so it's not like ultra tight tight now now we're going to get these in place and drill the holes let's go find a big hammer and bang some stuff it's moving just like yeah slowly you're almost there all right now you're on it this way we just need to bang it this way the banging worked split a couple pieces of wood but you know we kind of lost our chalk line here but this runs right into the little itty bitty groove right there and i kind of went around the outside of the chalk line with the sharpie before it's in case this happened we were right on the money there too just i mean if we're splitting hairs it could go over like a sharpie's thickness to the left but i don't think it really matters not that critical yeah it'll have that much movement once all the studs are in any way yeah how do you know when it got the whole way through or do you even go the whole way through well you don't typically necessarily want to go the whole way through it's kind of hard to believe that slab's only like four to five inches thick it's not very thick so that anchor i can kind of judge it by seeing it from here like i mean we're getting close so probably another inch or so that way i can bury uh a lot of time man you can take do you have any electrical tape or any kind of tape at all yeah cause it said in the thing that the the depth of the concrete should be four and a quarter yeah it's kind of expensive that yellow tape is actually cheaper than the blue stuff at lowe's really yeah get it from a body shop supply place like an auto body supply store okay yeah like the commercial ones that mix paint and stuff where regular people don't go yeah like those kind of places those kind of places yep that yellow tape is like my favorite because it's like thick and waxy and i use it for fabricating stuff yeah see right in that depth i almost went all the way through the slab that's as thick as it is is it four and a quarter four and three quarter oh yeah we're good then and you still didn't go the whole way through so yeah we're we are within the realm of specification for safety on this thing yes sir yeah i damn for sure i don't want to put this in here if it falls over that would be bad yeah yeah i'd say it's got to be it says it's got to be cured for at least 28 days i think they put this concrete in in like 63. so i think it's uh dry enough oh you know yeah it's better to say so it's been curing since jfk was here last time yeah okay now all we gotta do is so what i figure is is we'll make sure this thing's lined up this way and then i'll throw in another one here and same thing on the other one and that way these should be aligned and then all we're going to do is take the big level make sure these are level and when we start drilling and bolting all down securely should be good okay sweet getting it set in place and started to put in the right spot is like the hardest part like like attacking something together when you're welding it once you got it like tacked you can just freaking weld it up and just go with it yeah mike left we got everything anchored in where it needs to be in the right spot but i still got to drill the rest of these studs and put those in which isn't really a big deal watched him do it showed me how pretty straightforward i'm not going to tighten them all yet just going to put them in and then we're going to work on uh routing and hooking up these cables even though we're missing two pulleys and three of the little pulley retainers these things here uh there's only two of them i suspect the other two fell out of the box and disappeared along with the fourth pulley the third pull is kind of damaged on the edges i don't think this really makes a difference but okay so had a little bit of a brain flub when it came to lining this thing up uh once we got the cables in i never read any farther past that it also wanted you to…
