Remove Old Caulk and Foam

Begin by removing any old caulk and excess expanding foam from around the window frame. Use a utility knife to score and cut away the bulk of the old materials. For more stubborn areas, a multi-tool or a stiff scraper can be used. Carefully scrape the foam and caulk from the window frame, siding, and glass to ensure a clean surface for the new trim. The video shows cleaning both the exterior and interior areas around the window. After removing the foam and caulk, use a power sander to smooth any rough edges on the existing wood frame around the window where the new trim will be installed. Wipe down the entire area with a rag or appropriate cleaning wipe to remove dust and debris.
