Remove the Old Sink Flange Assembly

How to replace a garbage disposal STEP by STEP instruction!
What happens here
Now that the old disposal unit is removed, you will be working on the sink flange still attached to the sink. From underneath the sink, locate the three screws on the mounting ring and loosen them using a Phillips head screwdriver (from your 6-in-1 screwdriver). Loosen these screws until a noticeable gap appears, allowing for movement of the mounting ring. Next, use the flathead setting on your screwdriver to carefully pry out the metal retainer ring that holds the entire assembly together. This ring sits in a groove; once pried out, the entire mounting assembly (including the fiber gasket, backup flange, and mounting ring) will fall away. From the top of the sink, simply pull out the old sink flange. Use a paper towel or rag to thoroughly clean the sink opening, ensuring all old plumber's putty and grime are removed from both the top and bottom edges of the sink hole.
Goal: Clear the sink opening of the old flange and prepare it for the new installation
