How to replace a garbage disposal STEP by STEP instruction!

What happens here

The video introduces the project: installing an InSinkErator Badger 15SS garbage disposal, which features stainless steel components and a 3/4 horsepower motor. The necessary materials include the disposal unit itself, a separate electrical cord (as most models don't include one), the mounting flange that comes with the disposal, and plumber's putty (Sta-Put brand is shown). Essential tools are a 6-in-1 screwdriver and a pair of large channel locks (specifically 440s are recommended for secure installation). The presenter emphasizes the importance of using channel locks to prevent the disposal from detaching.

Goal: Gather necessary tools and materials and understand the project scope

Tools and materials

  • 6-in-1 Screwdriver — Various screw adjustments (Phillips and flathead)
  • Channel Locks — Tightening the mounting ring securely
  • Electrical Cord — To power the garbage disposal (purchased separately)
  • Mounting Flange — Securing the disposal unit to the sink drain opening (comes with the disposal)
  • Plumber's Putty Sta-Put — Creating a watertight seal for the sink flange

hey folks that fix it guy here today we're going to be installing an insinkerator garbage disposal the model it's a badger 15 ss this is stainless steel components inside it's a three-quarter horse and it's one of my favorite middle-of-the-road picks so come along let's get it hooked up all right the material that we'll be using today to install the garbage disposal which is this is the garbage disposal is going to be the badger 15 ss we're going to need a cord because remember the electrical cord does not come with the badger unless it says it on the box it does not come with the model you can buy models with the cord but most do not come with them and then this is the mounting flange that comes with the disposal this is what we'll be using we'll be using some plumber's putty to install that this has some phillips screws on the bottom of it so we'll be using this six and one screwdriver to put that together and then we'll be using a pair of channel locks i like to use the bigger 440s to actually clip this in place when it's done the step that we use these channel locks is a step that a lot of people don't do and i've gone to people's houses where their disposal have fell off because this was not done all right so let's get to work okay so
