How to install a faucet and reinstall garbage disposal for countertop replacement

What happens here

First, take the garbage disposal unit and align its three mounting tabs with the corresponding ramps on the mounting ring under the sink. Lift the disposal into place and twist it clockwise to engage the tabs onto the ramps, locking the disposal into the mounting assembly. The presenter explains that this acts like going up a ramp. Once seated, use a large pair of channel lock pliers or a disposal wrench to further tighten the mounting ring by twisting it until it's fully cinched down and snug against the sink's underside. The presenter emphasizes that it should be tight enough that it cannot be easily removed by hand. Next, assemble the new 1 1/2-inch P-trap (if not already assembled). Connect the P-trap to the disposal's drain outlet (the side port). Secure this connection loosely with its compression nut and washer. Then, connect the other end of the P-trap to the previously installed ABS trap adapter on the wall drain, again securing it loosely first to allow for adjustment. Ensure the disposal's drain plug is removed from the disposal's side port before connecting the P-trap.

Goal: The garbage disposal unit is attached to the mounting assembly, the new P-trap is connected, and all drain connections are secured.

so how you do that is you slip that on you take this make sure it's pushed all the way in and then you just take this clip and it's good delta makes that quite easy we will get the rest of the drain hooked up and installed and then we'll test this bad boy with the p-trap we'll take this part of the j2 and we'll stick this on here that way you have this hooked up we'll take the the nut from the half inch trap adapter put that on there like so the glue is dry there's a little bit of gunk in there and we will put this in place and just kind of tighten it loosely we won't actually tighten it yet but we'll just get it in place and just kind of make sure we get a feel for where it's going to be at we will pop the disposal on so disposal you just kind of line it up [Music] look for the three little tabs they kind of rotate around kind of going up a ramp and so you get that in place and you don't have to click it the whole way in yet so it's on and that works and then we will see [Music] just how far we need to go here so a little bit more out let's take this off and make sure we have enough inside that trap arm and oh yeah we got funny so we can stretch that out even a little bit more we'll take this nut right here and this washer and put that onto this so you if this wasn't already installed you would have to install this but since it actually came off of the old sink we didn't actually have to we could just use the same one so it makes for an easy hookup and then we just tighten this up here now that we've got the drain in before we actually tighten everything down we're going to use a little mega lock on it this stuff like i said i can't say enough good things it's for metal and plastic i i use it a lot i don't use tons but i use enough um so just go around it sparingly a little bit goes a long way and the nice thing about this stuff is it never really gets hard like some other types of pipe dope and it is it works out very well so let's take the trap back off and i like to put a little bit there's a bevel on this this j-tube and i like to put just a little bit around that bevel because that actually is what seals everything there and then we'll just go ahead and put some on this ring right here and that's that the bevel for this type it's like i said not tons just a little bit and we just pop this in place let's take that off okay so not tons and then we'll just put this back in place so let's put the trap on first we just tighten all those down i like to go…
