Hang and Level the Gate

What happens here

With the hanger bolts loosely in place, lift the heavy Tarter Farm & Ranch Bull Gate and carefully position its hinge points onto the hanger bolts. Once the gate is hung, it will likely be resting on the ground. Use a large adjustable wrench to begin tightening the nut on the upper hanger bolt from the back side of the post. As you tighten, the gate will gradually lift off the ground. Once it's roughly level by eye, place the level on top of the gate frame and continue making small adjustments (tightening or loosening) to the upper hanger bolt's nut until the gate is perfectly level. The goal is to lift the gate sufficiently off the ground for clearance and ensure it swings smoothly and is visually level and plumb.

Goal: Install the gate onto the hinges and achieve a perfectly level and plumb position.
