Final Tightening and Securing the Gate

HOW TO INSTALL A FARM GATE
What happens here
Once the gate is perfectly level, fully tighten all the nuts on both the upper and lower hanger bolts. Use the large adjustable wrench to secure them firmly, ensuring the gate remains stable. Then, take the gate chain and thread it through the latch mechanism of the gate, making sure it passes *underneath* the gate rail before being secured. This prevents livestock from lifting the chain off the latch. Finally, attach an inexpensive combination padlock to secure the chain, ensuring your animals are safely contained. If desired, the excess bolt threads can be cut off flush with a saw or bolt cutters to prevent livestock from getting caught.
Goal: Ensure the gate is fully tightened, securely locked, and safe for livestock.
