Install New Latch Mechanism

What happens here

Take the new latch mechanism, typically from a 'Defiant' brand doorknob kit, and identify the flat side of the latch bolt. This flat side should face the outside of the door (the side that the door opens away from). Slide the new latch mechanism into the hole on the door's edge until it sits flush with the door. Use the two provided screws to secure the latch plate to the door, tightening them until snug.
