HOW DOES A SHOWER HANDLE LOOK THIS BAD?? (And How I Fixed It Fast)
What happens here
With the set screw loosened, grasp the old shower handle firmly and pull it straight away from the wall. If the handle is stuck due to mineral buildup or corrosion, gently wiggle it back and forth or from side to side while pulling. Be careful not to force it excessively to avoid damaging the valve stem. After removal, inspect the inside of the handle and the valve stem for any accumulated debris or corrosion.
Goal: Once the set screw is loosened, carefully pull the old shower handle straight off the valve stem. If it's stiff due to corrosion, a slight wiggling motion may help.
