HOW DOES A SHOWER HANDLE LOOK THIS BAD?? (And How I Fixed It Fast)
What happens here
Begin by placing the new escutcheon (faceplate) onto the shower valve, aligning it with the screw holes. Insert and tighten the escutcheon screws. Next, position the temperature limit stop (a red and blue plastic ring) if your new trim kit includes one. Then, install the new cartridge retaining nut or sleeve, twisting it clockwise until snug. The video shows installing the new escutcheon, then the temperature limit stop, and finally tightening the retaining nut with a screwdriver.
Goal: Install the new escutcheon, temperature limit stop (if applicable), and the cartridge retaining nut, ensuring a proper fit for the new handle.
