Grid Goes down...what will you do for water? Installing a modern hand pump!
What happens here
Before mounting the pump head, detach the pump handle by removing the relevant bolts and washers using a 3/16-inch Allen wrench. This lightens the pump head assembly, making it easier to maneuver. Once detached, lift the pump head and carefully guide the main pump rod through its center. Screw the pump head firmly onto the uppermost PVC pipe section. Using an Allen wrench, tighten the set screws on the pump head to secure it to the well casing. Re-attach the pump handle, ensuring all bushings are in place and connections are snug. The finished pump should be stable and the handle should move smoothly.
Goal: Mount the pump head and handle securely to the well casing.
