Grid Goes down...what will you do for water? Installing a modern hand pump!
What happens here
First, take the red protective cap off the end of the pump cylinder. Then, attach the T-handle to the internal rod of the pump cylinder. Ensure it is screwed in securely, but not overly tight, as it will be removed later. This T-handle serves as a safety measure to prevent the pump from falling into the well during assembly. Next, attach the first PVC pipe section to the end of the pump cylinder's rod. The video shows the male threaded end of the rod screwing into the female threaded end of the PVC pipe. Use two 1/2-inch wrenches to tighten the connection, making it secure so it doesn't come loose when lowered into the well.
Goal: Securely connect the pump cylinder to the first section of PVC pipe.
