Dream Barndominium Timber Frame Front Porch Build, start to finish! Awesome!
What happens here
Using a telehandler (a JLG 6036 is shown), the pre-assembled timber bents are carefully lifted from the ground. Slings or straps are attached to the bents at their balance points to ensure a stable lift. Multiple crew members guide the bent as the telehandler raises and maneuvers it into position over the concrete piers. The posts are lowered onto the metal post bases, and workers on ladders help align and secure the connections. This step is critical and requires precise coordination due to the weight and size of the timber components.
Goal: Erect the main timber frame bents onto the prepared foundations.
