that's what our channels have in common is we both have a desire to help people make their own lives better it's not about just entertaining them we're actually giving them some education to go along with it at least from our own perspective right wrong or in between I'm not always right no no but if I can help somebody out like with you your farm you're beautifying your farm but you're sharing what you do and if other people beautify their Farms from what they learned with you you've made the world a lot a better place a lot better place that's all that's why that's why him and I are friends we kind of have that one mutual thing in common where it's like dude I totally respect that what the heck is that thing man uh Stanley the dirt monkey's here yeah hi guys let's go to work hey there folks this is Josh Stone English farmer and we are off the farm we're in Minnesota Minnesota did I say it right you did say it right with Stanley the dirt monkey dude thanks for having me this is coming Josh this is Stanley's cabin here and we're on a lake out in beautiful Northern Minnesota you got a family property up here about 150 acres yes sir and this is called a cast loader this is the first time I've ever set foot in one of these machines this is the first time ever using one of these machines the first time I've even heard of it was on Stan's channel so we're gonna let Stan come on in here this is a film you would you would think I would know what to do with these things sure man yeah yeah how's it going I don't know what to do on camera right over here what do I do what do I say uh yeah you know this is gonna be fun we're wearing flip-flops and shorts man this is going to be a fun video guys we're gonna test out a cast loader for the very first time Stan swears about a cast loader you have skid steers on your property you have Skid Steers for your business you run a Hardscape business landscaping business I run a farm and you told me this is a Turf saving machine and we work so hard to build super nice grass on our property whether it be in our lawn or whether it be in our garden or whether it be in the pastures and we know for a fact that a track skid loader will just rip up Turf right this will not so let's say you're you got your garden down here by the lake in the Sun and you're up there and you get the dump truck that brings you a load of dirt for the spring yeah how are you going to move that down to your garden without tearing up your Turf all of the grass in between so that's where something like this comes into place you can load with it you can haul it you can load dump trucks yeah you can load a dump truck with this with zero problem nice like a full tandem dump truck full tandem dump truck zero issue it has weights on the back we're going to walk around these things guys we just want to explain to you what it is first of all this one has a Yanmar diesel I believe that one's a Yanmar yeah and that one is a Kubota Okay so we've got two of them on site gotcha we've got a cast 33xt and then we've got the cast 40 XD okay there's some very fundamental differences between these machines so if guys are going out to buy one don't expect it all you're doing is getting a little bit bigger of a unit because you're not okay there's some very fundamental changes and I've lived with the cast 33 for three years now okay and I got the 40 about three months ago nice and there's things I love about my little one yeah that my big one doesn't have and vice versa and so if we walk through some of these things maybe we can help these guys figure out which one might be right for them let's do it so if it's even right for them you can let's just do it let's just walk around so we'll start with a little guy and move up to the big guy okay so the the big difference is we've got we're gonna start with the littler unit this is a cast33xt right dual speed it even says dual speed on here so this one has a button in the cab that has a slow range and a fast range and the slow range is perfect for just working around your property doing 95 of the work that you've got to do on your site but when you've got to mobilize and switch from one site to the next and you want to scoot you put it in high gear and you hang on because it's a little bit like riding a buck and Mustang right she's just gonna go and she's going to bounce you but you're going to get there really fast high speed is not good for work in any way shape or form you cannot work or do it now this has a hydrostatic transmission so you're not switching flight gears on the fly in any way shape or form you're hitting one go pedal and the more you hit the go pedal the more the machine goes it's straightforward and simple as can be when we come into the cab these machines have something that's very unique that you don't often see on all mini loaders and that's these buttons right here this is a telescoping boom this activates your Hydraulics so this one the 33 actually has two pumps dedicated just to running those Hydraulics so if you have an attachment that needs a little bit more flow you kick on the second pump and Away you go so you got a secondary pump right here yep you got it you got a secondary pump and that will definitely you will definitely see the difference and notice that speed up now the thing that I really like about these that makes these so versatile is the telescopic boom so there's an entire boom inside of this boom so when you want to go to load a dump truck even with high sides you hit the telescoping boom feature out and you can raise that all the way up and you can drop dirt right into the center of a dump truck better than you can load with a skid steer because of that boom on a much lighter platform this machine weighs like 3 400 pounds maybe four thousand pounds think of a really really really big lawnmower when you look at these tires yeah they're Turf these are turf tires so that's what allows you I mean where we were just at filming we were cruising around those trees right you can't do that with a skid loader Josh we would have been out fixing and ranking and trying to do something I just spun around that tree three four times with and all I did was Elevate the lawn a little better yeah tell me about the hookup system here because this is look it's smaller than a standard skid steer well this is a mini attachments this is your standard mini attachment hookup right here so you got your two pins now with anything if you don't like the mini attachment system you can buy a universal skid steer attachment plate and sandwich that between them but this is just your normal mini skid steerage system okay cool well around the back let's talk about so it's got to be ballasted we got to have some weight in the back right so you've got a weight set back here in the very back access to your engine for service yes so this improves expect if you're going to buy one of these there's two things you need you need a bucket and a set of forks even if you don't think you need a set of forks you need a set of forks you're going to use the forks as often as you use the bucket right that's where this comes in handy another thing that Josh didn't bring up this I love this little thing right here this little thing is a battery saver turn this off take the key with you nobody can steal your piece of equipment so then you've got access if you want to get at your engine and you want to get at all of your equipment you can just simply pull off pull open these two panels nice engine hydraulic pump battery everything in there yeah is this a lot is this lockable right here no not lockable nope so somebody could tamper with it but it's heavy gauge steel heavier than plastic yeah so when you when you're in the uh a couple things when you are in the market for mini loaders some of them are absolute dogs now I can't verify this and if you guys have experience with them let us know in the comments down below but I heard that the little giant loaders avoid them that's what I heard that's what I was told by multiple people they don't climb Hills they don't do very well okay um and you when you look at like Avant loaders those are great well known in the industry they're plastic okay so what happens with plastic when it gets cold cracks pops yep cracks pops when it gets too much sun it fades cracks pops when you drop something on it it doesn't it'll flex and bend until it won't flex and bend anymore and then it's broken or this if worst case you drop something on it you bang it out right that's what you're saying stand you're selling me here you're selling anybody this is nice I'm just pointing out the absolute difference I know I mean you're you're selling me on having one of these so it's I I own a ventrac and the ventrac is an articulating tractor and it'll go around stuff just like that and not destroy this will this will outwork a ventrac any day of the week except it will not handle as many attachments as a ventrac will dedicated like ventrac that's the problem is it's if you have a ventrac you get a ventrac attachment yeah yeah okay where you have this if you have the skid steer attachment plate or a mini attachment any attachment will work on it with the second Hydra flow this these guys don't make attachments they use anybody's attachments I don't care who you are if you've got an attachment and it'll fit on US Mini or it'll fit on a skid loader you can hook it up to this sweet so it doesn't have dedicated attachments like ventrac it has all of them it's capable of doing it that's a big difference let's look at this other big guy okay so now we go up now we're going up in Horsepower we're also changing an engine I believe this one has a Yanmar engine so there's some fundamental differences with this one it's a larger unit it has a larger turf tires but this one will actually not damage Turf any more than the smaller one will you think a bigger machine a little more aggressive tread oh we just saw it yeah they compensate for that by using all wheel steer the only mini loader that has all Wheels here and mechanical on top of it so as you're turning the tire players will actually turn themselves so it's not going to turn it let's see can I see it will I get back and forth a little bit like I'll try to yeah I don't know how well it'll it'll point out but let's just see yeah I got you got to close the door okay but you've seen how tight those tires get together and that allows you like I could stand right here and put my hand on this door and you could turn all the way around me without ever leaving that circumference without ripping up the turf some of the fundamentals this is a single speed Josh okay okay so this doesn't give you that range of speed like we're gonna get with the mini loader you've got one it's a one speed Wonder basically at this point okay so as long as you're fine with that that one has a manual throttle this has an electronic throttle this one has a little bit more throttle delay than that one that one's instantaneous so you can feel the linkage hooked up I'm old school I like it I just right um air conditioning this one comes standard with air conditioning air conditioning on this is amazing too so a lot of great little features with this one and when we want to get into this one a lot of similarities oh hey by the way why don't you ask me where these are made yeah where they made Italy Italy so it's casloader.it is that right I have no clue I think it is castloader.it well when you want to find one you go to Top Notch equipment bam castloaders.it there you go Josh is the man wait so when you want to find one though the Importer is top-notch equipment out of Rogers Minnesota so if you look that up you'll be able to order one online and they used to give a discount legit a discount of 10 on anything you bought there I had guys buy skid loaders and save five grand nice yup so Tom the dirt monkey sent you from Josh's Channel and boom you see anything a little different back here yeah yeah so we've is this a standard skid steer hookup or is a little smaller than a standard skid steer this is a confabulated goofball hookup if you ask me okay we'll hook up what's your mama dog will hook up right still a telescoping boom yeah but this has its own unique hookup system but you can get what I did is I just got a universal plate adapter okay so now I'm running full skid steer adapters on this machine gotcha that one I'm running minis this one I'm running whatever my skid loader runs so this is probably four to eight hundred dollar adapter something like that maybe yeah don't don't quote me on that you're gonna have to find it and if you do buy one just buy it through Top Notch you're telling you you don't want to you don't want their adapter you want the universal plate adapter gotcha but if you look around the front Josh I'll walk around you can stay there yeah um right here you got your skid steer skid loader attachment hookups yep so your standard hydraulic hookups and the 33 has the exact same thing and you have an electrical hook up there too if you have a Implement that you have to switch back and forth on your electrical yep yep wait so awesome awesome awesome awesome machine so a couple things to be aware of though Josh yeah they are Tippy okay so side Tippy so even if you have operators that claim they know what they're doing my buddy Dan Tools in action your buddy Dan yeah his his friend rolled it and his friend claimed that he knew what he was doing he picked up a log and these are cab Forward Design machines so you're always facing your load this is a huge difference if guys are familiar with loaders typical loader when you get into a larger size loader will be a cab backward design so you sit here and your front arm will move in front of you right when your cab Forward Design when you move you move with you okay yeah all right different feel a little more Tippy though when you get a big load on there because your Cab's riding with you everything's riding with you and you can turn and click link and click clink so you got to have a little bit of common sense but your audience that's what they're filled with is common sense we're Farmers we're Outdoors peoples that's what we're known for is common sense so I'm not worried about them just be cautious now you know what to do then just use your common sense so we have dirt to move we have dirt to move dirt monkey move dirt can I can I be your dirt monkey for the day absolutely we've got a we've got a yard to save let's see washing out yeah you got dirt to put in and it's a perfect example of not tearing up Turf awesome awesome there's a erosion issue next door and this guy let me tell you if there were two people that had uh lives that are in common when it comes to helping people out I would say I really admire what you do as in helping people out teaching them how to do this kind of stuff and helping your neighbors out like every neighbor around here knows that Stan will come and help them and do work for nothing just for fun he enjoys it he wants his neighborhood to be beautiful I enjoy it same thing I like helping my elderly neighbors I mean that's what our channels have in common is we both have a desire to help people little bit more about the cast loaders in detail for you guys [Music] notice it's not tearing any Turf up [Music] okay turn it on very simple you have two foot pedals and I'm wearing I'm on vacation so I'm wearing uh flip-flops smash those kind of move forward so we'll start it turn off our brake if our pedals work yep forward and reverse okay and we just drive and see here is your handle for your loader bucket works just like any other loader bucket we're gonna be moving a little bit of dirt today and then you I got a trigger on your hand pull that trigger okay gotcha we're goproing [Music] cells how would y'all get dirt down here you gotta wash out down by the lake yeah road down there all right so this might be a bit of an issue Crossing that wood we could go through there then we're coming down here okay and this is where we're gonna dump the dirt right here and this is where it gets a little bit Tipsy tricky yeah a little down here because of the slope Edge okay so right in here we'll spread and grade some of this here and fill up that hole over there and boom all right turn around and work our way back up so do you want me to uh run loads and you run scrapey or you want to just both Runs run loads together and then uh one come down and let's just let's just run some logs and do what we do okay foreign [Music] as you go into the pile the best thing you can do Your Bucket Level lock out your tires as you go in as soon as you go you don't break pull back a little bit and you clock lock off lock them okay we're gonna pull the switch he's getting in the little guy I'm getting in the big guy I'll tell you what it's like afterwards five so Bam Bam bam bam oh and I see it light up right there that's a diff lock it's important to use a dip lock when you go into the pile just learn that break off forward [Music] there was a stump in there I couldn't see it Stan was totally right I do like a little one better uh he likes the little one a little bit better I like the small one better because seems to be less Tipsy than the big one uh I don't want to say Tipsy but if you run over an undulating surface like a stump it will one wheel up just a little bit so there's a learning curve to run in one of these that's all it is to it let's head on back and dump our dirt stand yo I like this one better I agree you're like 33 I like the 33 better it's uh it's a mini loader it's what it is it's small it's uh that one is is larger and it's a more of a learning curve I would say the bigger one is the more of a learning curve I don't know what do you think I think it's just how they're a gear okay so that's adjustable okay this one has the two speed [Music] and if you don't like that you can have it geared down they can adjust it right at the factory so
