What happens here

Obtain angle iron from a hardware store and cut it to the same length as the wooden shelves using a metal chop saw. On the table saw, make a 1 1/4 inch deep dado cut (recess) along the bottom edge of each wooden shelf. This dado should be positioned 1/4 inch from the back edge of the shelf and be wide enough to snugly fit the angle iron. This recess will conceal the metal bracket once the shelf is mounted, giving it a 'floating' appearance. Mark four pilot holes on the angle iron that will be used to secure it to the wall studs. Drill through the wood and metal to create these holes.

Goal: Cut angle iron to the shelf length and make a recessed cut (dado) along the bottom edge of each wooden shelf to hide the angle iron, allowing for a flush, floating appearance.

I've played around with a few ideas how to mount these solid wood shelves without any exposed brackets and I've come up with a way to accomplish this using ink liner you can find at any hardware store first I made one and a quarter inch deep passes on my table saw to achieve the width and depth of the angle iron just a quarter inch from the bottom of the shelter once I got a good snug fit I then created another eight inch wide cut to recess and hide the angle iron inside the shelf then I marked out four holes that I would drive screws through both the wood and the metal keeping the shelf in place after securing the angle iron to the wall steps
