What happens here

After gaining access to the internal components, carefully detach the small, clear internal fluid tube from its fitting. The video suggests that if it doesn't easily pull off, it can be cut as a small section will be removed anyway. Next, using a utility knife, carefully cut the damaged section of the main corrugated hose right at its connection point to the rigid plastic fitting. Work the knife gently around the circumference of the hose to make a clean cut. Remove the internal metal wire coil that provides structural support to the hose. This coil will be re-used later.

Goal: Remove the cracked portion of the hose and prepare for re-connection.
