Drain Water from Pipes

What happens here

To relieve any residual water pressure and drain the pipes, open various faucets in the house, particularly those on the lowest floor. For the shower being repaired, pull up the tub spout diverter and place a towel over the drain to prevent losing small parts.

Goal: After shutting off the main water supply, open several faucets throughout the house, including the shower being repaired, to drain any remaining water from the pipes, reducing mess and pressure.
