What happens here

Apply a smooth, consistent bead of white caulk around the perimeter of the escutcheon plate where it meets the shower wall. Use your finger to smooth out the caulk. Importantly, leave a small gap (weep hole) at the very bottom of the escutcheon. This gap allows any water that might get behind the plate to drain out, preventing mold and water damage inside the wall. The video demonstrates applying and smoothing the caulk, emphasizing leaving the bottom part uncaulked.

Goal: Apply a bead of caulk around the perimeter of the escutcheon plate to seal it, leaving a small gap at the bottom for drainage.
