In this video
Measure from the stud to the center of the shower valve and transfer that measurement to the top plate of the wall frame. Drill a hole through the top plate at the marked spot. Wrap the threads of the shower valve outlet with Teflon tape. Feed the prepared PEX pipe up through the wall and the new hole. Screw the PEX fitting onto the valve by hand, then use a crescent wrench to tighten it securely.
