Step 3 · Disconnect Old Hoses from Shutoff Valves

Position your bucket directly underneath the hose connections at the wall. Using a pair of channel-lock pliers or an adjustable wrench, grip the metal coupling on one of the hoses and turn it counter-clockwise ('lefty-loosey') to unscrew it from the shutoff valve. Some water will drain from the hose into the bucket. Repeat this process for the second hose.
