Step 10 · Listen for Strange Noises

When testing the opener (after reconnecting power, if safe to do so), listen for grinding, clicking, or straining noises. Grinding might suggest issues with the drive gears. Clicking could indicate a problem with the logic board or a loose connection. Straining noises might mean the opener is struggling with the door's weight or balance.
