Step 10 · Test the Opener and Safety Features

Connect the power cord to a grounded electrical outlet. Test the opener using the wall control, remote controls, and keypad. Verify that the door opens and closes completely, stopping at the programmed limits. Test the safety reversal system by placing a 2x4 flat on the ground in the door's closing path; the door should reverse upon contact. Test the safety sensors by interrupting the beam while the door is closing; it should immediately reverse. Check that the opener light functions correctly.
