Step 1 · Mount the Garage Door Opener Motor Unit

Position the motor unit bracket against the mounting surface (ceiling joist or wall stud) directly above the garage door and in line with the door's travel path. Mark the mounting holes. Drill pilot holes and then attach the bracket using lag screws or bolts appropriate for the mounting surface. Once the bracket is secure, lift the motor unit and attach it to the bracket according to the manufacturer's instructions. Ensure the unit is level and firmly fixed.
